I never thought I’d say this but, something so sacred has been turned into a commercial rubbish dump

‘They have the money’ Every single person who gets a permit should only be given one, if they clean up all their garbage. There should be large fines if they don’t. Especially the tour groups who go year after year. Leaving the mountain filled with garbage is disrespectful to the mountain. Leave only footprints.

I didn't realize or know there's that much garbage up there. My gosh.

For that much money, I’d rather just fly to Antarctica.

It's already been commented but this video is inaccurate. He and his Sherpa unclipped from the line to go round the people who were ascending which is common practice when dealing with queues on high mountains. There were too many people squeezing through the path, putting pressure on the cornice that gave way when they stood on it trying to go around everyone. Staying still for too long puts you at risk of running out of oxygen or daylight. Unfortunately, they just got unlucky. A few other people fell as well, but were still clipped to the main line and were able to be rescued.

This is something that should be reserved as an accomplishment for experienced climbers. Imagine believing you should be a sharp shooter because you’re a talented painter…

It's not much of a feat if it becomes tourism.
Much respect to the people who carried out their garbage!

$300 000 to recover a body while people are starving. No shame

Factually inaccurate, no Ice block fell on top of him. He and his Sherpa unclipped from the line to go round the people who were ascending which is common practice when dealing with queues on high mountains. At this point the cornice they were standing on collapsed.

Who decided to put a price tag on climbing a mountain? Seems like a scam

The whole Everest situation is a complete disgrace, greed, ambition, large egos, resulting is an altitude graveyard and landfill. I hate to say but I don’t feel sorry for those who die there.

If i could afford it i couldn't get past the fear of hape/hace. If i got past that fear i couldn't get past the fear of the khumbu ladders. If i got past that fear i couldn't get past the fear of entering the death zone. If i got past that fear and sumitted I'd be stuck up there cuz i have vertigo and walking down stairs makes me dizzy.

I wouldn’t attempt it for any amount of money. And the fact people to go is wild.

The long ques of climbers up high are appalling. One should spend as little time as possible in the death zone, yet climbers can only climb as fast as the slowest climbers. It's only a matter of time before an unexpected storm will take out a large number of climbers in a single event.

The mountain does not kill anyone. She has always been there. The unprepared climbers, 99.5% of the commercial expeditions, are seeking to die.

The problem is to avoid the long line they moved to the side and they weren't clipped on to a safety rope. When the ice collapse, after stepping on it, they fell.

The local guides no NOT get those prices - they go to the adventure companies who they pay much lower wages.
