Alexander McCall Smith writes of these areas and you bring them to life for me! Thanks, Tony.

I have been to Edinburgh many many times and coming again in November. You still manage to show me places I have never seen. Well done Tony. I would love to meet you while out on a walk. Great videos.

Thanks Tony. Planning on returning to Edinburgh next July from Australia but you keep showing so many interesting places. I think we will need a few weeks. Look forward each week for the next video

Beautiful square! Interesting that it’s privately owned. When one sees a square they are usually public. Next door in Savannah GA there are lots of them.

Nice video Tony! And, I did not know some of the layout of the New Town was originally meant to resemble a Union Jack. "Residents Only" rubs me wrong. And look, no one is enjoying it. But, an absolutely gorgeous area! I think Alesander Graham Bell's house is close by.

Hi Tony, I've always been a proponent, now that's a good word, of looking up at buildings, good to see you encouraging same. I've been away many years now but am coming to look forward to your posts an a Saturday morning. Seeing the streets I roamed as a kid and even learning things anew. Keep up the good work young man.

The "New Town" has amazing Georgian architecture. Moray Place, Royal Circle, are great examples just away from Charlotte Square. 👍

Looks like a wonderful area, didn't actually know it was there. Reminds me of Lincoln's Inns Fields in London. Shame it isn't open to the public though, is that just good old fashioned snobbery. I mean, it's pretty big. Makes me wonder how often the residents use it.

Did you say the Dirst Minister lives there? I didn't know that. I mean, I suppose she has to love somewhere...

Moray Place is more expensive. Remember there were no pavements and they had alighting stones.
