Don't think for a second I do not like this bike. These are in my opinion very valid points for someone who is looking to buy one of these machines.

1., , Terrible for passengers, because it has just 70hp

Dude, I ride passengers on a 50cc moped. Are you joking 😂.

I bought my MT07 new in 2017. I have used it locally in England and it great. I have toured the UK and its great. I have toured France and its great. I took a trip to Croatia and Slovenia in 2017 and it was great. When I tour I have a large amount of luggage and it performs and handles great. I regularly get 200 miles from a tank and its not empty at that time. I regularly get up to 70mpg if I stay within the speed limits when touring. This is a fantastic bike and has masses of torque which is great for real world riding. Hoped this helps people who are trying to decide.

5 answers/ amendments for the 5 complaints;

- buy an aftermarket comfort seat

- even mega low scenario 35+ mpg is acceptable for the 3.7 tank size, which equates to 130 miles of fun. If you're going farther than that without stopping, youre on the wrong bike, which is your fault.

- its a naked bike. Wind protection isn't even a valid complaint nor a concern. Know what bike you're buying because you are voiding your right to complain when you purchase one.

- Almost no bike is unique in and of itself. It is how the rider dresses it which makes it unique- and therefore could easily become a one-of-a-kind motorcycle.

- Buy an aftermarket rear shock. Use heavier fork oil to combat a springy front fork. However, neither of these are even an issue for casual riding, which negates the concern. If you bought this to race or track, you bought the wrong bike.

Conclusion: its a near flawless bike for how its intended to be used.

75hp not being a lot? Man, the stock bike is equivalent to a 2, 500lb car with 468hp. Of course it isn't a 160-180+ hp 999cc bike but its also cheap with 75hp and tons of torque. It can definitely handle a passenger with ease.

Did my first big road trip with my mt07 last month. 520+ miles each direction. After market windscreen, not too big, throttle lock, air hawk seat and universal saddle bags plus camping gear on top of passenger seat and bags. The air hawk seat was amazing. My ass pretty much didn’t get sore or uncomfortable. As far as fuel capacity, by the time I’d be getting low I’d want to get off and stretch my legs anyway

“Everybody has one, it’s not like a cool bike” - it is cool if everyone has one and if they don’t have it they want it. I think if everybody wants something, that “something” must be cool, if you’re following what I’m saying. This bike is like an iphone. And for suspension upgrades watch Dave Moss videos (fyi he does the same thing with the spacer and putting in thicker oil)

Sold my fz 07 and bought a cbr1000rr I wish I never had. Out of all the bikes I’ve rode and owned the fz was by far my favorite. It is the perfect one bike to own the power makes sense, it’s light, good seating position, good mileage, and wheelie machine.

Bad wind protection? On a naked bike? Wow. Next thing you tell me is it only has two wheels :0

I feel like #5 was the only complaint worth mentioning. The other are more pet peeves or obvious to me. You're talking about wind protection on a naked bike.. and popularity on a Yamaha. The suspension was prob the only legit complaint but it's a point beaten in by every Youtuber for the past 5 years.

I've been riding a 2017 mt-07 motocage and so far I'm not planning on changing it and if I do it might be for an mt10 ... I just can't find any bike that sounds as good as the 07.

Taken mine on 1000 plus mile trips works fine for long trips. From iowa to Florida. With a little planning comfort seat with air hawk cushion set of cortex bags.

Should we choose YAMAHA XSR 700 will be a reasonable choice for long trips, right?
