Welcome to my Animal Crossing channel. Today's Animal Crossing video is all about the future of Animal Crossing, and the potential for a Nintendo 3DS port coming to Nintendo Switch.
This video is pure speculation and essentially a theory, although does hold some weight. We discuss the latest Nintendo Direct announcements, and how these may affect Animal Crossing, and the potential to see an older Animal Crossing game that previously released on Nintendo 3DS eventually come to Nintendo Switch in the future.
Personally I figured a retro version of Animal Crossing would have been more likely, however given the latest Nintendo Direct news surrounding 3DS ports to Switch, I'm now considered a 3DS port to be far more likely.
Would you play Animal Crossing New Leaf on Nintendo Switch? Or would you prefer Nintendo to fill the Animal Crossing void with new Spin-Off titles? Let us know and thanks for watching 🥰

Since there's no updates nor news on ACNH, I went back to New Leaf and I'm having such a fun time with the game! I would love to have it remastered for Switch too!

To be honest, the Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon remakes opens the door for many other 3DS games that could be remade for the Switch.

OMG, I would LOVE to have the original GameCube version of A.C. available for the Switch. Even with all of the different versions out there it is still my favorite. 😊

A port of New Leaf would be so exciting! I’ve never played it but I’ve heard so many good things…I would definitely get it.

Slightly off topic but for people's information, Pikmin 1+2 got a touch of a graphical upgrade for the Switch version showing it is indeed possible for them to port old console games while giving them a tiny shiny coat to them while not redoing the game from the ground up like a remaster. Just small polishes here and there to make the screen and text look more clearer similarly to how some XBox Live Arcade games were done on the 360's service back then.
Since Animal Crossing on the GameCube's graphics were extremely dated for its time, imagine seeing it with a touch of a polish like they did with the Pikmin 1+2 HD versions on the Switch would be an amazing dream come true!

the graphics improvement from Animal Crossing 2000 to 2020 is mind blowing. So imagine what it'd be like in year 2040. If they can improve it the same order of magnitude, how will it blow our mind again. Perhaps Apple Vision Pro type of gameplay? Then in year 2060, how will they blow our mind again? Boy, we live in a tech exponentially improving era, in linear time.

I wanna add something. Luigi's Mansion isn't actually the first 3DS game that basically got a port/remake on the switch. There's Kirby Clash and Kirby Fighters or whatever it was called. They're kind of ports(in terms of graphics and functions), but they do have a few new things added to them, such as new characters from Kirby Star Allies. Personally, I'd wanna see Pokémon X and Y get that treatment, tbh

Im conflicted by the idea of bringing new leaf or other animal crossing games to the switch. On one hand? I love it. Because so many games have fallen onto abscurity or become unplayable if they arent ported or remastered for modern systems (reason why ill always support remakes in general like with pokemon--yes even if they're "bad" remakes, ie if they dont change or update much from the original.) On the other hand... The other animal crossing games were good, but limited compared to the creative freedom of New Horizons, if they just did a port and didnt remaster and add in new horizons features (such as place furniture outdoors) I feel like it might turn off alot of new horizons players. For so many, new horizons is the first animal crossing game they've played, going "back" before we had all this customization might feel extremely limiting. It might not sell well or see much attention unless you're an old time ac fan. I feel like to bring the old games to the switch, they'd have to at least up date some features. I could understand not bringing in terraforming as that is a big feature. But placing furniture outside? At least? Might be feasible? I dunno. Just my thoughts.

i would love to have new leaf on switch and i would also love a new type of controller for switch aswell which would be the bottom half of the DS and the little nub or whatever it was should be a smaller stick controller which would be the only change and the screen should be kept so we can use the screen to whatever the developers want like minimap on it or we could use for sorting our inventory or sorting other things

They really should port New Leaf to the switch!!! That will be a very good idea! Its one of my favourite animal crossing games!!!

New Leaf was my first AC game, but they would have to change it to fit ACNH for me to care about a port. I'd much rather a mini game dlc for multiplayer.
