The part in Avatar Aang where Azula basically loses it. I do not own Avatar the Last Airbender!

Her first appearance: she's in control, powerful, and confident.
Her last appearance in the show: this.

"Why does everyone else get to experience love and compassion but me" is what I get from her breakdown

as a kid, you think this is Azula just throwing a fit because she lost and her reign is over, as an adult, you realize that its finally all the stress and feelings she's been pushing down all her life boiling to the top and exploding like a 100 year old overdue volcano

Actually this is her reaction after seeing the the Last Airbender movie

The worst part about being handed everything is that you're not prepared to lose.

Ozai scarred Zuko physically.

Azula was scarred MENTALLY.

I love how the show trusts the audience to understand that even though Azula was a cruel, callous person, what happened to her is still a tragedy. Everything about this, from her tears to the music to Zuko and Katara's expressions, is deeply somber. This isn't "Hurray! We beat the villain!" It's "I feel bad for her, and I wish there was something we could do to help her."

Zuko was REALLY lucky to have Iroh in his life...

This scene is just really sad. people need to remember that Azula is only 14 in this scene. She has never known anything but power, fear and control and that was all taken away.

Fun fact: In order to get this type of emotion, everyone who was in the room with the voice actor left, and she was all alone. She had to dig down to what really hurts her to get this type of emotion into this scene.

In any other show the villain would have said "curses, foiled again, " or "I'll get you next time"; not Avatar.

You just get a human being completely break down in a helpless pile of emotion. Brilliant story-telling.

Azula is the perfect definition of a tragic villain. She maybe a firebending prodigy princess, but, under all of that evilness and meanness. She is 100% an abused victim. Her father abused and manipulated her, her mother neglected her because she was frightened of her, and her two friends betrayed her because they were secretly scared of her and where manipulated by her. So all of this abuse, neglect, and betrayal is what caused Azula to go insane. And paranoia and fear of her servants, Dai Li agents, and imperial firebenders, thinking they might betray her.

I remember the first time I watched this I was smirking so hard when Azula started roaring fire but then I realized she was sobbing and it went away instantly. There's something about seeing someone in such a pathetic situation that wrings out your pity for them, no matter how little of it there is

Ozai did this, he treated Azula like a pawn, pretended to care about her when she followed orders and threw her away when the comet was about to arrive. Zuko realized his dad's love was empty, shallow and based on power and stopped trying to please him. Ozai deserves the Worst Dad in Existence Award.

She needed love, like any child, and she never got it. No wonder this happened. Zuko had his mother, Iroh and later, team avatar. Azula had no one, even her friends turned their backs on her. She deserved so much better.

0:17 her little sobs break my heart every time, she's so tired of being aggressive and angry that when she gets her rage out she's just a scared little girl who needs a hug

This scene and the one where Iroh sings "little soldier boy" are the saddest scenes tbh

She was abused just as much as Zuko

Just not in the same way

The voice actress of Azula is in a whole different level. She didn’t fee like a cartoon character nor a person dubbing a character. She brought that character to LIFE as if it was a real person. The pain you feel in her scream is clear and even without dialogue, you could hear her scream for help
