Fighting Back Against Workplace Bullying

Dr. Gary Namie talked to FOX 5's Raoul Martinez on Friday about how employees can fight back against workplace bullying.

Workplace bullying is a huge problem. I've seen really good workers get harassed and bullies don't have any consequences.

Never stay at a job that sucks your soul dry. Just leave with dignity. Make sure to plan ahead for future jobs by not saying anything negative. It does no good, as satisfying as it might feel to tell someone off. Have another job lined up first, if possible.

It happened to me. Bullies I delt with still with the company sad to say management protect them.
I lost my job in 1997 after I got into a fight with a bully. I still suffer PTSD from bullying

They do this when you are a lot older worker as well even when you work hard, fast, effi iently and do a really good job. What makes it bad is when the Supervisor is doing it and encouraging others to do so as well.

Your coworkers will probably not help you. In my case, the coworkers joined in with the bullying.

I've been target in my office, and besides the threats of losing my job they also do not socialize in any way. Lately the team leader (also part of the mob) seems obsessed into getting me to go to lunch with this group outside the office. Really don't know how to react as this seems mandatory to her. Any ideas?

There is one....that is gunning to take me out. It's just a matter of time. She started bullying me approximately one month into my employment. Nothing will stop her insecurity around me. I am just biding my time at this job, and learning all that I can...so I can avoid this nasty, old alcoholic altogether.

I experienced workplace bullying in the military. No different from what I experienced with being bullied in elementary school ./

He has gotten me to researching to see if this is a pattern of his and is known to have done it others in past ! And he has done it before !

Thank you for this video, im going thru it now got someone that has completely distroyed my reputation at the place im working ! Im good person and everywhere ive worked i have been well liked and trusted, but here its all being done by one guy, and im trying to deal with it, sometimes i want to crawl under a rock and hide its so bad ! He has no empathy and is just an ass in the worse ways, no you ask him will he say yes i mean nothing ! I tryed to build a fire truck to fight fires here we have a lot of them need bad better ways to handle them, but my hands are tied with him i can see why the place got so ran down with him in charge everyone afraid to do anything unless he tells them !

Im at magna in bowling green ky i work in facilities maintenance dept and my boss is a jerk, finding out how i can deal with this without telling on him ! He way to well liked to go to them ! Trust me on that
