Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play; it uses a freemium business model and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 500 by 2019.

Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It was one of the most used and profitable mobile apps in 2016, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of the year. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.

That describes me. I returned this past year after a year of play in 2016. My how it has changed. More than 1 kind of egg?! hehe. Thank you for videos like these. One thing I wish I knew was the "seasons" and the pokemon unique to that season. So don't spend rare candy on Vanillish if you rejoin in July. Just wait until December. The same with Tepig. This year will be my first "Tour" as I just missed it last year. BTW, I didn't know what community days were when I got back since I missed the first one. My first one was Starly although I actually came back around Easter. (between Easter and July, I missed those and raids) Glad you still went over.

I stopped playing a year or so ago because adventure sync was broken and could not hatch any eggs or finish the buddy tasks. I downloaded it again today and finally managed to beat Giovanni, but it sounds like other players are still having trouble with adventure sync which is disappointing.

Some years ago there was the Halloween quest to catch a certain number of Ghost-type Pokemon. I didn't do it during Halloween, and then it took me until the following July to complete it because there simply weren't many Ghost-types around at other times of the year :D

Watching both of your videos that cover newbies and returning players before I head out at 3am for a night adventures is really helpful. Just boosted my inventory and pokemon inventory to 1k each and bought max raid passes and some incubators and some stuff. Should be a fun new adventure this year and I'm definitely subscribing to your channel for any kind of content. Appreciate you very much! 💯

Did they take away location based Pokémon? Used to be you could go to graveyards at night and find ghost type really easy.

I was just looking through my Dex for “hatched” + “shiny” to satisfy my curiosity. I accidentally tapped “lucky” instead of “shiny” and was surprised to see almost a dozen pop up (vs. 0 “shiny”) and it got me wondering if hatched mons could have an increased chance of being randomly lucky when traded?

Even if the featured community day Pokemon is trash, it is worth playing for the XP or stardust bonus.

You didn't mention that mega level 3 Pokemon give a lot of extra candy and XL candy as you catch the same type of Pokemon. So for the Tapu Koko, you can have a mega Manectric or Ampharos in its mega state to earn extra Tapu Koko candy. Or if you prefer to focus on boosting others, have a ground type mega evolved and in the raid lobby to boost everyone 's counters against Tapu Koko. You did mention that part.
