Today, let's investigate another 3 good looking, but still relatively cheap 3.7V 18650 Li-Ion rechargeable batteries from Ebay. They are rated 2500mAh, 3000mAh and 3400mAh. What's the actual capacity?

“15kg explosion-proof etc.” We need a test video on that 😏

6:32 they're so vague on the "lead to scrap" bit, the image that popped into my head was that if you don't charge the battery, thousands of pounds of scrap metal will be dropped on your house in the middle of the night

Another good video of what to look out for when buying 18650 cells . You must have a lot of patients charging discharging all of these cells - please keep the videos coming.

Back when I was vaping I used these 3 particular types of batteries, which I bought as new and they costed between 10 to 18$.
The one made in Japan, 3400 mAh is from Panasonic, older generation, high capacity, moderate discharge current, it wasn't very good for currents above 5A.
The brown one is indeed LG (particularly HG2), really powerful for vaping, very high discharge current, it lasted for quite long.
The Samsung one is the general purpose battery which came with my vaper. It was OK initially, but indeed it did not last many cycles.

I tried to test their capacity as new by discharging them with a 10 Ohm resistor and by measuring the voltage and current every 15 minutes until they reached 3.2 V and back then I came with these numbers: ~2600 mAh for Panasonic, ~2500 mAh for LG and ~2000 mAh for Samsung.
I guess the ones from the video are not fake but used quite well.

This video was rated for 80% Cat but we only got a miserable 15% Cat. Need more cat next time.

Hi, Please try to make a teardown video about smartphone fast charger...
fast charger, like Qualcomm rapid charge/Samsung Adaptive fast charging...

And of course the total capacity is the capacity that we do not have access to because of the voltage drop limit. We only get access to about 70 or 75% I think?

when i took a bunch of 18650 cells from old laptop batteries, they usualy were about 0 volts. i just plugged them to bench power supply, and charged at about 1A ( loocking if they aren't hot). and now i have about 250 of them with capacities from 1000mAh to about 2500 mAh (average about 1800 mAh) for the price of about 25 cents/pice :)

I have those litokala ncr18650 ... all of them come out to be 3400mah to 3500mah... u should test those with your tester ... I used readymade Chinese capacity testers... buy litokala and u will see it!

I think the mystery charging current is pulsing charge or pulsing discharge?. That's what vaping devices do!

These videos are very helpful. Thank you!

I have those real LG HG2 bought in czech stores and the specs are kinda messed up, it is for 20A discharge. I have 4 of them for SMOK GX350

I already knew that Samsung 25r was fake when I saw that 0.05v voltage drop on just 0.5 amps.

Those are used or rejected cells. The Panasonic NCR18650B batteries are the best one you can buy, just find original legit sources from Europe or USA.

Great video!
You could test Litokala 18650 or 26650 li-ion batteries from Hong Kong, they cost too about 4$ including shipping, but it is possible to buy them from Manufacter, not only from some random Reseller.

haha .. coincidentally I just bought the same solar charger and I am quite happy with it .. I use it for my powerbanks and have only minor nitpicks about it .. I am getting about 8W of power from it most of the time due to real world circumstances ( it's rated 14W peak solar power) .. now I need to search for your video on it and see what you have to say about the panel :)
