How I get a smooth finish plaster. There’s more than one way, this is what works for me #plastering

Despite all the proper plasters having a go, this does actually work and what they all forget is when you hit it with a paint roller it leaves a rough texture anyway so bollocks the smoothest wall obsessed. Flat is more important than smooth.

People using the sponge is making every Tom dick and Harry think that they can plaster. It’s not necessary unless you’re on site plastering for terrible money and to earn a half decent wage have to thick one coat and sponge. Or if you’re loosing a ceiling or wall and need a bit of help.

Look at the edges of the recently plastered ceiling🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ and the hollows on every sweep of the trowel. Sponge floating skim is pointless if you can actually plaster👍🏼

I use a sponge float all.the time I dont let it go as dry as that and I use marshal town flex from this point onwards get it perfect everytime anyone who says using a sponge float is just for getting out of trouble your missing out big time

Ill only ever use a sponge if im going over decade old s&c or bonding anf its pulling in far to quick

i plastered for 3 days and can plaster huge walls to a glass smooth finish, mate whos a time served showed me how, wasnt like this but lol at people making it out like you need 30 years t be good lol, its easy work

You definitely dont need to sponge it to get a good finish.

Should only use this for a last resort if you really in trouble & your losing control of your plaster if your a good skim this is totally unnecessary 😅
