I used to give myself weird conditions to "finish" a game, for example, when playing JRPGs, I would always follow strategy guides, read every single word in the game, go through every tutorial, finish all sidequests, and get every single chest or hidden item. When I discovered that I had missed out on anything, including reading any dialogues, I would load an earlier save and play all over again. It was a weird habit that I am so glad to be rid of now.

The hardest one I've ever heard of, is the "unlock everything without paying"

The first thing I thought of when I saw this list was Pokémon Nuzlockes.

Kinda missed out on the point of the pokemon nuzlocke challenge. Its catching the first pokemon on each route. Not catching the first of each pokemon you encounter.

If there were games with complicated level scales, I'd be the type to stay stuck on one level for ages, only to give up at some point and allow someone else to finish it for me.

SLASO from the Halo series definitely should’ve definitely been on this list.

I'm surprised the knife challenge from the original Resident Evil wasn't mentioned. Getting through the whole game only using the knife was such a popular (and crazy) feat that it lead to the creation of the Tofu Survivor mode in the sequel.

I would like to mention one of my favorites, Iron Man - Fire Emblem franchise, it ir simply no a no reset run and if you fail for whatever reason and get a game over you have to start for the beginning.
The thing is normally when one play Fire Emblem most of the people reset a chapter when you lose a character because the game has perma death for your units and you want to win with all your unit, but in iron man you have to pull with all the death in your back.

Challenger Andy is out there working to complete a Dark Souls 3 run where every enemy is Slave Knight Gael.

He previously completed an all Gwyn run of Dark Souls 1. He is beyond any of you.

Cold run for dark souls should have been replaced by no hit run for dark souls 2

But since it has that achievement that makes sense I guess

there's the legendary skull challenge, which has you trying to beat halo 2 on legendary difficulty with every skull active (except for Envy.) and you have to stream it. If you complete the challenge, then you win 20, 000 bucks, which was created by the man himself, MoistCritikal!

Honestly surprised that "Iron Man in WoW on a PvP server" didn't make it in.
Also, I would've put in getting to max level in Borderlands 2 without dying. Or allegiance runs, where you only use guns and items from one company and finish the game. Can be tricky.

"Always War, Civilization franchise"... yeah, we call that one playing as Alexander.

So number 1 is just increasing the difficulty? I though this was ‘fan’ challenges

I’ve always seen a nuzzlock challenge, but never attempted. I’ve also, and IDK if it’s true or not, but probably seen a 1 mon run, where they go through the game with only one pokémon. I dunno. I know back then, that would be kinda hard, especially if you’re doing a gym with one that the leader’s team is strongest against your mon.

I like the Mario Odyssey one, where you beat the game with out jumping.
