One Year Update: DIY Rain Barrel & Stand $50 Part 1 of 2🛠💦🏡

I've been using my DIY Rain Barrel & Stand for the last year in the winds and rains of Portland, Oregon.

The only change I've needed to make after one full year of use is to add a $5.99 mesh cover on top of the rain barrel.

Has anyone else had different results than me? If so, what was the problem, and how did you solve it?

Fyi... I picked up a frying pan splatter screen from the dollar tree. Slide it under the down spout. Debris is easy to remove because it has a handle. Do this once a week. It protects the main screen. 😊

I put socks on my downspouts and they catch the roof debris before it hits the barrel.
