I know this is supposed to be inspiring but I will never be able to afford something like that even with two jobs. Sometimes videos like this make me feel like my dreams might never actually come true. Everything is so expensive ... I think I may just have to start watching people who can help struggling people like me trying to make ends meet still be able to make something like this work. I've had to start foraging for weeds to help feed my chickens and had to start using leftover meat and white rice to add to my dog's food just so they can eat well. This video basically just reminds me of all these things. 😔😔😔

You know your living a dystopia when you need to make sure that collecting rain is not illegal

In India individual houses and gated communities are encouraged to harvest rain water and the government gives subsidies as well.

Pro tip put oil in the watertank, the oil will float to the top so aslong as you don't completely empty the tank you won't have any oil in your water but you will prevent insects that lay eggs on water from nesting in your tank

If the government claims the right to the rainwater which some state governments do then they should be held accountable for all the flooding and other damage rain causes.

This dude has better water management than the entire state of CA

The legality largely depends on where you are, I know when I lived in Boulder Colorado it was illegal to collect rainwater.

In Australia, the government subsidises rain water tanks, and people are also now putting grey water tanks in to repurpose used water from washing, showers etc. We are encouraged in a drought ridden nation, not to waste water.

This guy doesn't pay the water bill, the water bill pays him.

Every home in Arizona should have one of these built in.

Very impressive! On a much smaller scale and as an elderly person, I have gone to bucket gardening and it really conserves water. Even in the driest summer months, I only have to fill the reservoir in the bottom once a week. All of the water gets to the plants roots and none evaporates. When it rains, I don't have to water but if we get a bunch of it, I do replenish fertilizer. I absolutely LOVE all of you gardens and am really enjoying living vicariously through your reels and Youtubes! I know and appreciate how hard you work and your dedication to best practices and stewardship of the land!

In Bermuda ALL houses catch water from their roof and direct it to a tank between 5 and upwards of 20, 000 gallons underneath their houses. Been doing this for 400 years

Every house on the planet should have this.

The sad thing is in some parts of the USA collecting rain is illegal.

This is the same way that most of us folks on the Big Island capture and contain our entire household water needs, no joke. Most homes in the Puna District have absolutely no access to county water mains but are located in a tropical rainforest, so we improvise using these same techniques. Anyways, this guy certainly is smart and resourceful for figuring this system out.

This is a very normal thing in germany. Almost everyone with a garden does this. Most collect it in water barrels but some (like me) have additional underground water tanks. As soon as the barrels are full, a valve closes and it goes to the underground tank were it can later be pumped up again.

I live in the UK in one of the wettest areas, and it rains here, A LOT. So we did the same thing, we never water our garden with any other water. We even use it to wash the car if it gets grubby. Rain water is better for garden plants than tap water, much better. God bless you.

Nice! Good on you that you know how to and are able to set up all the gutter work and piping needed to collect the water as you have. Unfortunately, most people don’t know how and aren’t able to do what you did.

Wow, we’ve always had one of these in the back yard, very common in Australia. We have four, one for drinking water and the other three for the garden.
