If you want a squeal on the low E string, press the fret behind as well, then it works every time. Natural harmonics can be obtained on any note that you want using the double finger technique on the right hand. If index finger mutes lets say the 12th fret and middle finger plucks the string but you want a semitone up, then press the first fret and pluck on the 13th with your right hand. Good practice!
