Congratulations you're finally getting Kılıçdaroğlu's name right. Something I noticed during the 2015 rerun parliamentary election after the first returned a hung parliament - if you breakdown the vote by province - then the swings to the AKP were spectacularly uneven, but frequently just enough to pick up one more MP in that particular province. If they needed 1% more votes to gain an MP, they got 1%, if they needed 12 % they got 12 % Funny that ....

It's free that's certain. We - the ones live in abroad - have already voted for the elections last week. Regarding the fairness, you don't have to wait for the election day to decide that! It's already not fair. The government uses every power in their hand to campaign, including tax money. The opposition has almost no chance to appear on any main news outlets.

A few tips for pronunciation: If there is ğ, pronounce the previous letter longer e.g. İmamoğlu --> İmamoolu.
Also in Turkish c is pronounce like j in 'Jay'.

Excellent coverage. You hit all the nails on the head and in 8min. These are subtle semi-authoritarian disenfranchisement strategies but they are poorly covered in mass media. So really great you covered them. And very simple and clever way to prove that courts are stacked! well done.

"Could the Turkish election be rigged?" My answer is, "Is there even the smallest possibility it won't be?"

Well said my friend, well said. We do not want to see our country in another crisis such as political; especially after economic crisis we are already in. May God help us for upcoming days. Literally sadding, living in such uncertaintaties.
Until free and fair days...

if Erdogan finds a chance to rig the election he definitely will try..but as an opposition, we have experienced so much about possible loopholes in the system..just main opposition party CHP assigned 200k people to monitor the voting process..with the NGOs and other opposition parties almost 500k people assigned..since Turkish election system is not digital it's also hard to make a "digital" adjustments..so if the opposition be careful it's nearly impossible to rig the election for Erdogan, like in 2019 local elections.
Probably they will try to focus "earthquake zone". they can try to give votes for "unofficial deads" in the earthquakes.

and also when you are talking about turkish elections, remember that we're not either russia or china..we have strong election history and also people love voting and watching pie charts at election nights :)

One very important point Westerners cant understand: Erdogan does not ban pro-Kurdish party because he is anti-minority, he targets HDP specifically beacuse they are not cooperating with him. He and his party are saying things like ''they are not Kurds, they do not represent Kurds''. HDP's current ties with PKK also helps this propaganda with both Turks and Kurds. Erdogan is one of the most pragmatic politicians ever, he can ally or defend any politician as long as it helps his agenda. When he lost his connection to HDP, he suffered hard times with no allies(2014-2016). Since then he is allied to both nationalists(MHP) and much more smaller but also radical-islamist pro-Kurdish party.(HÜDAPAR)
One point to prove this: Despite Kurds being around 20% of Turkey, the pro-Kurdish party can only get around %11 of the votes in election. The other Kurdish votes does not go to centre-left opposition, but Erdogan. This might change a little bit in this election.
