Here are the major differences between the 2021 and 2018 Tesla Model 3. Is it worth the upgrade? See the difference first hand.

Thanks to Lucas, a fellow Utahn, who was gracious enough to share his 2018 Model 3. He takes great care of his vehicle, which you can clearly see.

In regards to the noise reduction, based on your meter, the average Db's is 69.8 for the 2021 and 73.1 for the 2018. That's a 3.3 Db reduction which is noticeable and about what I would have expected.

I like the chrome for lighter colors. I wish the trim would match the actual color of the car

I liked the 18 version better, I have an iPhone but I like the usb outlets better as well for different devices. The 18 seemed wider as well. Both are nice and not that far off in age and honestly, grocery hooks are a good thing.

Such a nice guy to allow you to do this comparison. It’s actually vegan leather on ALL model 3s only difference is that the older cars have a leather steering wheel which was short lived.

Haven't seen the video all the way through yet but saw that in the notes that db levels measured the same. I see the tires are Michelin X-Ice for the 2018, and your 2021 has the Michelin Primacy all-season. This might be the difference making the db levels the same. I think snow tires, even Michelin ones, are going to be noisier than all-season especially of the same brand. Tires are one of the biggest factors in cabin noise.

Great vid! Just a quick thought, your sound is sometimes lower and you become harder to understand, so maybe think about a little mic for your next vid. Also; wear a mask when inside of the car ;)
The info itself was very good and you have a calm way of telling things. Could you maybe show how the auto dimming of the side mirrors look?

Video idea: The 2021 also includes improved batteries. Could you please supercharge from <10% to 80% at a V3 station with a camera on screen the whole time? Several of us (Especially Bjorn and Out of Spec followers) would like to know the charging profile of the new batteries. If you navigate to the station, it will preheat the battery for faster charging.

I really don’t get why Tesla disabled front fog lights? It’s a matter of safety!!! 😬
