MIB2 USB HUB retrofit (5G0 035 953 D) - part 2

Installation of OEM USB HUB in Volkswagen Golf MK7 with MIB2 Discover Media system (MST2 by Technisat). Hits hub features MFI chip which allows it to use not only AndroidAuto and MirrorLink but also CarPlay - without the 5Q0035726E long green USB port. HUB features 3 USB connections, 2 of which are available as media playback sources, and 3rd one is for other accessories like D-Link DUB-E100, any AndroidAuto device, USB storage with maps (if CID lock is removed).

ℹ️ Installation required adding fuse to the cabin fusebox, replacing the 5Q0035726E USB port with standard one, repining HSD (High Speed Data) fakra connector, changing coding and adaptation values of the MIB2 Main Unit (0x5F).

Did you say Carplay requires the advanced USB connection, but Android Auto doesnt?

I was thinking of fitting this hub to allow me to install a hidden wireless AA/Carplay device, but still be able to connect via a cable if i wanted to. My partner prefers to plug in but I don't. Sounds like it wouldn't work?

Hello, nice work, I wanted to ask you for a detail, as regards the ambient lights, do you know where the light strip above the passenger side drawer connects?, the strips on the doors have the comfort control units inside the doors, but that above the drawer I can not find the link,

Hi, which color is USB 1 and which USB 2 now. You explain it in part 1, but as you tested in part 2, it seemed to be the other way around. Is it like described in part 1 or is it mixed up? Thank you.

Hi, In my Passat B8 i have two USB ports from factory. After unlock of AppConnect I can use just one usb for AppConnect (CarPlay). I have done coding and adaptation as described. I guess I have the usb hub from factory, so maybe it is different version? Do you think that If i would connect the second usb port to a different port on the hub, i will be able to use it for carplay? The usb what is working is in front cubby under the climatronic, the second usb is in the armrest compartment, i want to put a carlinkit in the armrest, and have usb in front free. Can you help me? Thank you.

Good job! this is what i also want to do, but i think about connect to one of the usb a wifi (inside). Do you think it can work? for example car play by wifi (my device doesnt have an wifi but i think everything is only about install supported drivers on linux)

hi, could you please help me about something, i would like to upgrade my Golf Mk7 MIB1 to MIB2 or 2.5, the idea is to change the brain unit and the screen so i am able to add later rear view camera with turning lines and a good resolution on a logo flip
could you please tell me the parts numbers i would need for the screen and the brain unit and also if wiring changes would be needed?
i am aware i will have to make some coding but my first stage is to get the parts and learn as much as i can before installing them
