I agree with your assessment. I read this article last week. I read Wilson’s response today. Essentially, it’s a good hour or so that I’m not gonna get back. Both articles, to me are painful. The reason I find Deyoung’s article painful is for the exact reason you’re stating.

If performed orthodox confessional Christians don’t agree with the church system Wilson is related to for obvious reasons, and at odds with the federal vision that’s on his shoe always that he refuses to wipe off, why should we be giving him any attention? In fact, it advocates for him. It’s like, give it time and all that will pass, and everybody will accept me even if I have the dog do on my shoe. And by anybody who’s anyone, to address his bowties or his wingtip shoes is missing the trees for the forest. This angers me. Of course, all of us that don’t reside within Moscow or the CREC, ‘ just don’t understand’.

I got a random question, if I live by faith, will works naturally come or do you need to try to do works to have a living faith

Do you believe that Doug Wilson is not a Christian?

I read the article last night and I think he wanted to keep the article as succinct as possible. It was already full of content pertaining to one subject. That subject being the shock and awe factor that basically is coarse language and jesting. It's just as much an attack on Doug's theology as if kevin d had gone after the federal vision. In this sense, if doug was not trying so hard to be a bull in a China shop hero like Martin Luther, perhaps he could sit back and find another way to object world systems and denominations that didn't sound like language the world uses.

I don't think it's cowardly to stay on topic

James 2:14-26
Legacy Standard Bible
Faith and Works
14 What use is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can [a]that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, [b]be warmed and be filled, ” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is [c]dead by itself.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith; and I have works. Show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe that [d]God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was working with his works, and [e]as a result of the works, faith was [f]perfected. 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness, ” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

I don't think its cowardly. Last i checked, Doug Wilson renounced Federal Vision. So perhaps that was enough for Deyoung and and most people.
