I've worked for about 8 different employers, in many different job types, industries, and for many different leaders, managers, etc.
My current leadership, with new director, really is starting to feel like the worst leadership I've worked for.

The one thing that stands out the most is that this leadership seems a bit arrogant about their leadership skills. The director has read many books, came from military background, and written a book. Other leadership I've worked for has never really come across like this. They were more humble, which made them seem more accessible and relatable.
It seems like there's a threshold where someone goes so far into learning how to lead that they step the humanity out of it.

I chuckled at the employee of the month joke. Could you give more context on why an employee of the month type of recognition isn't productive for the team at large? Is it bec effort doesn't always translate to results (at least not right away)? Or is it bec we put down those that don't "win" it? Or bec there are better ways to go about its intentions?

Or am I thinking too much about it? 😅
