13 years old running through the mall, both Parents was Alive.We had a small house 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom.Wood burning stove, wood burning Heater, Garden, apple trees, plum trees and muscadine fruit trees.Rode our bikes all day in the sun, it actually snowed In GA during the winters.Mom cooked with love, dad worked, little home was full of life and love.I never intended for life to be this way nowadays, I miss my Parents:(

Getting home from school. Entering the back seat of my Mom's car. Mom driving us to the next bigger town, which feels like it takes forever. Spotting familiar and new things everywhere. Mom parking her car somewhere at the giant shopping mall. Mom taking me to an endless number of shops, which feels like it takes forever. Getting a grilled sausage bun, which is delicious. Walking by the arcade machine and dreaming about how it would be like to play this amazing racing game, which is only for the cool older kids. Getting ice cream, which is delicious. Going to the exciting wonderland called "toy store" and choosing a toy car. Mom driving us home in the dark. Admiring my new toy car on the back seat. Being tired and happy. Thank you, Mom! ❤

The way I escape reality is fantasize about a perfect world. In my perfect world the styles of the 20th century never left. Cars look like they used to, nobody is glued to a smartphone, music is like it used to be, and although TV in my perfect world is CRT, it's high definition and the shows are like how they were back then. Physical media is still a thing including VHS, cassettes and vinyl records, game consoles never went extinct and retro gaming is huge there. The only modern thing there is computers which have super fast internet accsess and and play games as good as the most powerful consoles can.. Over there I'm a child again and I never have to grow up, m also have friends who are also kids who chose to never grow up so we all stay kids forever.

it feels so nostalgic, my dad picked me up from school. he was sitting on the back seat of the car, while his driver drove my dad 1986 BMW. my dad had a cassette mixtape, and we listened to Smooth Operator and Wake Me Up before you Go GO. we went for KFC and my dad bought a whole bucket for me and my mom, before he dropped me to my mom's. sadly he passed away due to lung cancer in early 2024.

That indoor strip mall reminds me of a local place we went to when I was a kid. I was 14 in 1994. I have memories of coming home from school and watching the old Disney Channel (when Disney still showed classic movies and the old cartoon shorts) while sitting in a bean bag chair and eating snacks. The mall was THE place to be. Everything was there. And we still had department stores downtown. No cell phones. Maybe a dial-up computer here and there. We romanticize the past sometimes in our minds, but I'm convinced that everything truly was better in the 90's. I miss those days.
