That’s a gorgeous tobacco burst. Great lesson as well.

Intonate in playing position. Laying the guitar flat will give a false reading.

You rock dude, quick concise, accurate, & very informative, your format is fabulous, I don’t play doom……but I love Black Sabbath just the same, I love the amps you feature, your pedals are awesome, and those gorgeous double cut guitars are killer. The ones you bought as a set especially! I wanted a model T Sunn! Bad ass amp.
Keep it up!🙂

It’s way easier than it looks. Also, if it is your own guitar don’t complicate things for yourself with measurements, go by feel when you can. The first time will be hard but after a dozen times it will be second nature. There is a video of iommi’s guitar tech about how he set ups iommi’s “old boy” and it was pretty much all by feel without any kind of measurements (obviously entonacion and tunning apart).

Good setup! Exactly the specs I aim for.

i like how you started with specific measurements like the truss rod relief and action. but you completely left out pickup height.

Love that Tobacco burst! Let me know if you ever get tired of it! I’ll gladly take it off your hands bro 😂👍🏻

May I suggest to put the strings through the opposite side (closer to the saddle) of the bridge, and wind them around the top of the bridge towards the pegs. Gives a bit more sustain, and helps with lower tunings I believe.

I have been playing a " Vintage Les Paul in a Tea-burst " with gold hardware. The sound of this guitar and playability is tops!!! An excellent guitar for the money!!! I had a custom LP Gibson sun-burst in 1980, ordered new. Sounded ok, but expected something better for all that money I paid. Thought maybe after the break in period she would sound better...
She was a real looker but with a heavy 💜 I sold it 😕

Later in life, I will look for a LP again, see if I get lucky this time around. My buddy has a Gibson LP reissue 60's now that one sounds amazing 🤩

This is great info, I pretty much rock two Epi Pauls these days and do my own setups. Thanks for the tip!

That a Gibby or an Epi? Either way, its badd ass! Nothing beats a Les Paul. Great lesson. God bless you, dear brother.🎸❤☺👍

I would not mess with neck relief on the basis of what I read on a feeler gauge, you really need a straight edge for that that sits on the fingerboard with notches for the frets.

Dude what are those 64ths? What measurement unit is that? I really appreciate the video but it would be more helpful if you use a more common and precise system such as mm or cm :) I mean, every rulers has mm and cm on it right?

What if you don’t have feeler gauges? And what’s this 1 fret on low stings and 2 on the highs? How do you quite measure that? I can lay 2 fingers down on the frets but doesn’t mean I’m getting that many string wraps around the tuning pegs?

Any way to fix the G string from forever de-tuning every few bends? My key isnt even loose but it doesnt wanna stay in tune for long, brand new strings, full week of breaking in, still doing it

I don't know what these words mean but I am certainly entertained

What gauge strings would you slap on for playing in drop C?
