Learning To Land A Plane Is A Struggle| PA28

Sometimes they click, sometimes they don't. It's safe to say that the most inconsistent thing for student pilots during training are landings! One can be good and the next can be terrible. It is generally like that until they nail down their technique and start stringing some consistent landings together.

JD is doing a great job and I think we broke down a barrier with the landings in this video!

Enjoy the fun

When I was pre solo, My instructor was the most angriest guy in the world. There was not a single smile when I was flying with him. Its perfect that you guys laugh together and having fun. You are an amazing instructor sir

I'm in the solo phase of my training. I have the hours, and I meet the requirements. But I can't solo until I can get more consistent in my landings. CFI says I'm right there. This morning he said "I want to solo you so bad, but I need just a little bit better landings." I'm so close but I either over flare or I can't keep the airplane stable. Too much left and right. I know this is an older video, but I'm soaking in all the landing videos. Side note, I thought I might solo yesterday, so I wore my Lewdix "Remain clear of my " thinking it might be the one. But I didn't get there got sweaty and didn't get it washed in time for today's lesson. Opted for my Piper shirt since I'll be soloing in a Warrior. You almost made it into my shadow box though! LOL

Arguably one of the best first 2 minutes to a video ever.

Im training to be a flight instructor in Australia at the moment. Love your videos mate. Appreciate your light heartedness. The instructors doing my training are both jumbo pilots not busy with airline work. That made me nervous till i realised they were comedians haha. Makes a huge difference for students! Professional but fun.

Best advice I was given with respect to the flare, once you cut the power put your eyes on the far end of the runway and try to keep the top of the cowling lined up w/the end of the runway. In a Cirrus that technique seems to keep you at the optimal flare angle.

Lewdex you're an amazing and amiable person. Why can't we have instructors who more genuine and actually love to get along with their students. Keep the attitude, love your hype and relationships with your students. Love from Australia

Just had my first solo in a Warrior III and Lewis uploads a video the same day? TIME TO LEAN BACK AND RELAX!

To thumb's up for Flying eyes. I have had mine a few months and I can totally say they don't break the seal on my A20s and let the engine drone in. Glad they picked ya up!

I remember when I first started working on landings. It was difficult and then one day it clicked. Then I soloed and between nerves and less weight it was like I was learning to land all over again. I also learned in a Cessna though so In reality I didn’t have to know how to land a plane to land.

I've been around for a while now and this is definitely one of the top 3 LewDix-videos. Great stuff man! Still rockin' your shirt in germany btw. Keep it up! :)

It is damn funny. IMO the funniest video was when Josh sent him some merch! I still laugh when I watch it!!!

Student pilot in Canada, I find the Teardrop entry interesting. We don't do that in Canada. It's just midfield join if overhead or straight in. 45 degree entries are frowned upon too.

I struggled to land! My instructor left and I got a new one. He asked me "Can you see the runway?" I said "No" We got a cushion for the next flight. I could see the runway and started to learn how to actually land. I am 6 foot tall and no-one thought about what was going on. My height is in my legs not my body.
I have been struggling to get air time right now. The weather is not cooperating! Live in Colorado Springs. My biggest issue lately, once in the air, is not "flying to the chocks!" Instructor was ready to let me solo again but I screwed up a perfect landing by dropping the nose once the mains touched. I am not current and that is why I need instructor approval. I belong to a military aero club that has very strict rules. Going for my instrument rating right now. Still doing the ground school.
Anyway, I enjoyed watching your landings. Humor is always good.

That’s the reaction you want after the landings!

OK - Let's try and work all three together while landing... That's what my CFI used to say. LOL!

Q: Are bananas the official food of CFI's? That brings back memories.

It’s all laughs and giggles till you realize you had a bubble in your tire upon landing.
Awesome vid tho, good times!
