Exercise Pitch Black 2024 - Back and Bigger Than Ever

@TheRSAF (Republic of Singapore Air Force) participated in Exercise Pitch Black 2024 in Darwin, Australia, from 12 July to 2 August.

This year's exercise is the largest in its 43-year history, with over 4,400 personnel and 140 aircraft from 20 nations! The RSAF deployed more than 450 personnel, four F-15SGs, six F-16C/Ds, a G550 Airborne Early Warning aircraft, one A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft, and multiple Ground-Based Air Defence systems.

The exercise offers realistic training scenarios in air-to-air and air-to-ground combat, as well as surveillance and reconnaissance.

Pitch Black is such an important exercise for all the nations involved. We are all stronger together. And it is so valuable for different aircrew from 20 countries to become brothers and sisters by working shoulder to shoulder in a unified family. Singapore is always welcome. Australia and bSingapore have shared military struggles that go back a long time, and that has forged a special relationship.

How do you transport fighter across such large distance? Do the pilot sit in the cockpit for long hours?
