In the TWELFTH episode of the 2024 season, the guys are in the shop debating this season's highly contested Real World Sled of The Year recipient, discussing which snowmobile they'd jump on any day of the week because it is the most awesome sled of the season basing their choices on the following criteria: ride quality, handling, ergonomics, overall comfort, overall flexibility, fun factor and value.

Then AJ presents the recipient for this season's Revolutionary Advanced Design (RAD) award which highlights new and innovative, game-changing technology introduced in the sport of snowmobiling.

Unfortunately, the sled prices are out of the stratosphere. The manufacturers need to get this in check. Most of these sleds are in the low to mid $20k + range. It's becoming a rich mans game, which will not bode well for the sport in the long run.

Real world sled of the year is the one that made it through the season with out breaking down or killing anyone. I used to buy a new one every year, not any more. I'll keep my 2023 Renny Xrs 900r turbo, no fancy display, no smart shocks, It has never broken down and it hasn't killed me.... yet lol, also its paid for, I f**king hate payments.

Nice to see you folks finally gave some love to Cat. They have finally come to the table to compete with Doo and Poo. I still think the 2023 ZR's are the best looking sleds on snow and for most of us is a trail worthy sled. Poo has so many "stop rides" I just can't imagine that being your "sled of the year" but I do respect your opinion. I watch Snow Trax religiously . Love AJ's tech tips. Keep up the great content

Nobody truly knows all the effort the guys at Polaris are putting into their sleds, but your choice for 2024 Real World Sled of the Year proves they are making great sleds. Good job guys!

There are many Assault riders here in the Northeast U.S. and you guys just made them happy. Hopefully we have a much better season next year. Think snow.

Really like the show but when judging for sled of the year..." reliability " should be important...I'm sure " stop ride " might change the outcome.

Great to see how close things are between manufacturers. Gives us more choices to pick what we find our best option. Would have loved to try the new boost and platform. I have a 2019 Assult 850 with 2" lug. Love that thing for on and off trail. Happy to see its still has the same DNA, just getting better. Can't wait for all the manufacturers to boost and tweak their suspensions.

Catalyst. Fun Factor pegged. Cat durability. Value. 600 runs with 800's all day. Looks the best. Makes you giggle out loud in the twisties. No worries about having to tow back a Polaris because after 35 years of riding a CAT you learn not to ride with the Polaris faithful.... and they never learn to pack a rope???

Great video as always, and as others have mentioned them need to get the prices in check and start adding real value. Dealers are sitting on tons of inventory and hearing it from so many folks prices are out of touch.

Great video once again guys! I wish some on here had a chance to do what you do as I truly believe it would be an eye opener for many. Love the Assault, definitely my favorite as well by a long shot and my Lynx was my favorite BRP product I've had.

I've been riding Ski-doo for 40 years now. I have three in my garage (01' MXZ 800 Adrenaline (strectched to 137), 12' GSX SE 800 (137) and 14' 600 Adrenaline Renagade) but, you think I am disapointed Doo did not win? Nope, I am just happy to be able to ride and this next season I am adding a Polaris Switchback 850...not the Assault, not the Turbo, just a plain Switchback. I have been wanting to hit the logging roads off our sled trails that are un-groomed. I have attempted this with the 12' and 14' but get stuck even with DS2 skis helping keep the front end up. The MXZ does better in deep snow because of the belly pan...anyway, it's the tip up rails on a 146 skid is why I am going to Polaris. I ride 80% on trail, but will be doing a little more off trail (logging roads, ATV trails) and I want a sled that will be capable of great trail manners but I can make a left turn onto a unridden road. Glad to hear you like the Assault....oh and value, lets say the old/new stock, because of a poor season is priced around $12K +/- 1k US prices. That's only $4K more than my 01' MXZ 800 Spring ordered back in Spring 2000.

Spent a week in Yellowstone on my new 137 VR1 Boost with a bunch of buddies. I can confirm that all Boost sleds are not created equal. I got a good one, holy smoke! Three other turbos (two Boosts and a Doo) saw my tail lights all week. The only sleds that were faster were turbo Cats with mods. The 1100 (240hp) was a teeny bit faster and the Thundercat (270hp) was just plain faster. But my TOTALLY STOCK VR1 was so much stronger than the other sleds that I got accused of clutch kits and Bikeman reflashes etc etc. Sometimes you just get a good one.

"Real World" to me would suggest that value would carry a lot more weight in your choice. Theres nothing real world about a competition or boost because 95 percent of riders cant afford them. Maybe just drop the 'Real World' from the award name.

Man, those Assaults are so good. Been reluctant over the past several seasons to stray from my beloved XCR's, but, perhaps next year might just be the time to give one a try.

Congratulations fellas you picked the right sled this year but it was an easy one it had to be the catalyst it's the only manufacturer that brought something completely new this year redesign from the ground up I assume the 858 will take the title next yr.

Gonna be a good year next year. Cat 858, Poo Dynamic, Poo 9R just to name a couple next year.

The Assault is an amazing sled for sure, but dependability is always an issue with the 850. The older 600 was very dependable, im not sure how the new 650 is doing because I have no personal experience with them.
