I've read several interviews in the past with former members of the witness protection program where they say that when they call the number the Feds gave them when there's a problem, that the people that answer the phone don't know who they are or anything about them.

I use to work at us bank in the mortgage loan collections department- a customer that defaulted on his mortgage just flat out when ghost... couldn’t find him...ended up finding that he changed his name— huh that’s crazy guy changed his name— but I found him...dude was flipping out—how did you find me who are you... dude was in panic — next day... the fbi and I had a very unpleasant conversation- how did you find a person in witness protection? And his old name...I had to answer everything—then the real scarey thing happened- the fbi flat out told me I better hope nobody finds out that I found him— I may be a wanted person in the mob and never know... lol oh well.
