My father passed away 47 years ago next month and I am NOT "over" it. IMHO, we do NOT "get over " the loss of people we love, especially our parents. We learn to live with it, to be happy and enjoy life anyway. I would stop associating with anyone who told me to "get over" the loss of my loved ones, especially my parents. I will NEVER be "over" their loss; I just have learned to manage their absence. I have decided to choose joy, and not misery, as often as possible. May the lives of anyone reading this ALWAYS be blessed with good health, happiness, love, peace and prosperity. ✨️🙏🏾💛

This great man has made me, a person he doesn't even know is alive, so very, very proud.

Tyler Perry has me tearing up at work. My Mom made her transition Sept 30th. I think I am still numb so I will take Mr. Perry's advice and feel all the feelings. And definitely no BS!

People who love can feel your pain. It never goes away. But with time I pray we all get through it.

Your speech brought tears to my eyes. My mom passed in December (early December 2017) as well and it's a hard month and I'm looking forward to getting away in the month of December like you now that I'm retired because I want to grieve my own way.❤ love all the dimensions of you! 😊

It's not just people at the bottom who try to tear you down but also the people at the top and near top that try to tear you down too.

When we hurt, encouraging others is a medicine. May God give him strength to navigate the waves of grief. Tyler you are inspiration despite the critics.

My dad died almost 5 years ago and there is not a day I don't think about him. Someone once said "grief is simply, love that doesn't have anywhere to go" and it really is. But I've also learned in grief there is also gratitude because I"m grateful for the memories that we had up unto his final days. Grief can also be for relationships and sometimes the hardest grief is grieving over someone who is still alive because they left with no explanation.

Thank you Tyler for this❤. It's been 3 years since my mom passed. I've had to block people including family....to protect my peace.
