5 Terrible Reasons For Having Plastic Surgery

This video has been coming for a long time. These are 5 terrible reasons for getting plastic surgery. I see so many people make a lot of these mistakes and it often leads to regret and feeling worse than before.

The reasons will range from trends, to moments of high emotion, to wanting something you shouldn’t, wanting something that cannot happen, and others wanting something for you. That is about as much as I will hint about the reasons and so you should watch the video.

Some celebrities that will be mentioned in the video are mentioned only to express an example or to help visualize one of the reasons, I am not explicitly saying that every celebrity made the mistake that they are used to help explain, but some may have. Celebrities mentioned in this video are, but not limited to: Bella Hadid, Kelly Osbourne, Megan Fox, Darcey and Stacey Silva, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Tori Spelling, Jennifer Aniston.

I want every one of my viewers to feel beautiful, confident, and good about themselves and their body. Everyone is different and needs different things. Plastic surgery is something that everyone should consider for themselves individually on their own time and after a lot of research to make sure you find the right doctor for you, and the right procedure that will enhance the look you are going for.

Not discussed in this video is also the cost of surgery. It is not something to be taken lightly as it is permanent and can be expensive. Even if someone goes with just dermal fillers, botox, coolsculpting, skin lasers, and other non-surgical augmentations, it can still cost thousands and leave a lasting effect for years. Some surgeries are irreversible and trying to fix them can lead to them looking worse than before, so be careful when getting any surgery that will change the way your face looks, such as a rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, facelift and more.

Please know that although I have a very informed opinion based on my own experience I am not an EXPERT or a Doctor. Please visit a plastic surgeon for medical advice.

Special Thanks to Miss J from Miss J's forum; much of my knowledge was garnered from her.

LOVE YOU ALL!!! Your support means the WORLD to me!!!

Fantastic video. To these reasons I would add:
6. To look like a certain celebrity.
7. Industrial pressure (k-pop, Hollywood)
8. Societal pressure (like in Korea)

The funny part is that when Ariana was darker, most stans were like "she's naturally that tan!!" but now that she's paler it's "she's naturally that pale!" Like what😂

Another thing that stood out to me in this video was the mention of others encouraging plastic surgery for their significant other or relative, etc. It reminded me of two love interests I had (in two different years). The first dude told me that if I were going to be with him, I had to flat iron my hair on a weekly basis. I was so disturbed I completely stopped talking to him because how are you going to tell me how to wear my hair? The next dude came about 9 years later. This guy told me, "You're going to stop wearing these boring clothes and you are going to eat more because you are too skinny, you need to be thick". I stopped talking to him too. The first guy stated that his dream woman would be white woman with red hair, yet all of his girlfriends were Black. The second guy wanted a thick Black girl who fit his lifestyle, yet I was slender and never followed his ways. The only person who can love you for you is yourself. Society is so fickle that even if you changed your hair, gained or lost weight, changed your skin or your eyes, it still would not be enough. The audacity of those who want to run the bodies of others! We were born beautiful already and it is only up to us to choose whether we want plastic surgery or not.

Lorry, Board Certified Plastic Surgeons will generally ask you why you want the surgery and talk to you about what can be done and what they won't do. You are spot on in this video. You look gorgeous!

you can’t fix an internal problem with an external solution 👏

I think woman clinging to youth is a sad reason to get plastic surgery. The sooner people stop feeding the idea that women lose power with age, the better.

The fox eye surgery kills me! As a person that has almond eyes and has always wanted bigger eyes, it kills me to see celebrities with big, beautiful voluminous eyes get this surgery. I guess no matter what we have, we always want the opposite. It’s like we can see how a lot of features can be beautiful on other women and the combination of that and how bored we get with our own looks (because we see our own face all of the time) is like a cocktail for disaster.

If anyone wants to change their look after a breakup, I’d recommend dying your hair or trying new makeup looks you’ve always wanted to try. It’s a more temporary solution!❤️

I would also like to add #6 "getting plastic surgery to overcome low self-esteem". An external solution won't fix an internal problem, and you might end up going down the Kylie Jenner way... Getting more and more surgery because nothing ever makes the trick.

What i hate most about these so called “beauty standards” is that they don’t just stay the same. Every new decade or hell even every new month there’s this new beauty standard that society deem “desirable “ so even if you get a plastic surgery to get this “perfect” face or body the beauty standard is gonna shift and you’re still gonna be left unsatisfied. Its easy for these celebs to get a new face every five to six business days cause they got money, luxury and easy access to the best of the best surgeons. That is not the case for the average girls like me who grew up wanting to look like these people and hating on our natural beauty.

I how you brought up women getting cosmetic surgery to adapt features that other races have. The examples of women you dropped had my jaw to the floor because most people wouldn’t publicly call them out. It’s really sad that these celebrities’ fans get so defensive when it truly is problematic. A lot of Ariana fans are in delusion that she had work done to begin with but the ones that do know she had work done deny that she’s starting to look Asian. It’s definitely not okay. It gives the impression that looking like or adapting features of another race is a just a trend. That’s an awful and harmful message. I’m glad you brought it up!

it's so bizarre to me that certain facial features and body types can be trendy. kind of dystopian to imagine a future where everyone exchanges their faces and bodies for new ones like people do now with fast fashion every season. it feels like we're already heading that way with how casual people are with less invasive procedures, despite them having their own sets of risks. great video as always, lorry. really made me think!

I was always told I had the same nose as my grandma. I have a very strong nose - a bit of a bump on it, etc. When I finally moved back to my home country when I was a teen and met my grandma, I was shocked to see she had a tiny upturned nose. It wasn't like mine at all. Turns out she had surgery a while back because she didn't like it. I never disliked my nose but knowing that my grandma didn't like hers really ate away at me. It affected my confidence. Finally, I stopped putting her thoughts above mine... just because she didn't like her previous nose doesn't mean I have to dislike mine. Just like Gisele said once - "girls with big noses have big personalities".

i like how you aren’t afraid to touch on race or some other topics that definitely are seen in plastic surgery. it shows that you truly put effort into your content and ensure that you remain honest and as unbiased as possible.

Lorry, I just had an idea. Why don't you interview ordinary individuals or open influencers who got plastic surgery? Then have an open conversation about it

For the BBL look, I think we're slowly transitioning to a more slim body type like in the early 2000's and 90's. The girls who got bbls/shots are reducing the size of their hips/butt because of complications and they want to look more 'natural'. I think the new trend would be the "I woke up like this" look, focusing more on skincare and natural looking makeup, and a skinnier body with more proportion.

In a sea of people screaming to get surgery to be like everyone else, you are a light in the darkness, Lorry! I only wish every young woman or man could see this video before making rash decisions. Your videos on researching doctors and making sure one is in the best mental space possible makes you very special indeed. I have so very much love for you, beautiful woman 😍 🙌🏼

I think having plastic surgery for looking like someone who might be your "IDOL" is also really bad 🙄

I'm so curious whether any celebrity has reached out and offered $$$ for you to take down a video, or threatened to sue 👀 Love your channel btw!
