I actually learned about the Archdukes assassination in school a couple months ago. His death wasn’t a random murder by an onlooker, it was planned. Also, that only blew the fuse. There was a lot more to building it than just blowing it up

For those who travelled the whole Austria and dont know Ferdinands location where he entered the car IT was at the Sarajevo vijećnica(Sarajevo City Hall) just before his drivera made a wrong turn and his car turned of right next to gavrilo princip(an assasin)who has a Bullet and Killer Ferdinand and accidently killing Princess Sophie when he wanted to kill the driver but the police pushed him causing him to kill sophie

The person that killed Archduke Francis Ferdinand was 19 year old student revolutionary Gavrilo Princep. His wife also died in the incident.

The person that actually shot Ferdinand was Danilo Princip from Serbia, and it was planned to assasinate him but there were also two other people that were also supposed to do it but they failed and it came all down to Danilo

It was two Serbian nationalists that attempted to kill him. One used a bomb but failed. The other guy tried to kill him self than saw the duke fleeing from the scene and when the car stopped grabbed his pistol and shot the duke and his wife. Later Austro-Hungaria declared war on Serbia. And Austro-Hungaria asks the German Empire for help, and serbia asks the Russian Empire for help. Russia asks France and Great Britain for help. France joins Britain waits until Germany Amex Belgium. World War One started and the Empire of Japan and Italy join the allies. World War One is a vary hard topic to understand because to talk about World War One you have to know about imperialism in Africa and Asia in the 1800s and the industrial revolution. And the alliances formed at the time.

František Ferdinand D' Este was not killed by á onlooker but shot by Gavrilo Princip (member of secret organization who was send there to assassinate him) after his car doged a grenade

Ferdinands death was not the reason why ww1 started it was more of the tip of the iceberg or the straw on the camels back you see his death definitely did play a part in starting the war but tensions between countries were already high seeing how at the time Germany was expanding their army making everyone else worry if Germany was going to start something there was also other things causing tensions aswell

Okay old up a sec-

The archduke Ferdinand and his wife where traveling around visiting or idk. They had their entire rout public. This group of people really hated these guys, and they where planning to murder them. Three guys in total. Each had a vial of cyanide around their neck so they wouldn’t get caught.
In one town, one man threw a grande at the car, but it bounced back before it exploded, injuring many people.
The archduke wanted to visit the people in the hospital, he told the driver to go back. In this time, cars did not have a reverse option. So, to turn around, you have to get out of the car and turn it around manually. The driver continues down the same road and pulls up at this little cafe. Inside this place, was Gavrilo Princip. He was part of the group that was planning on murdering Ferdinand and his wife Sophie (who was pregnant at the time). Princip sees them in the car, he walks out. He takes his pistol and shoots Sophie first in the gut, killing her, and the unborn child. He then shoots Ferdinand in the chest. Ferdinand doesn’t even realize he’s been shot. He just yells “Sophie my dear Sophie!!” And he dies a few moments later.
Princip is then tackled, and doesn’t get to take his vial of cyanide.
Because Ferdinand’s country was at a weakened state, other countries decided to use the weakness as an advantage, and thus WW2 has began.

So in simple terms, Gavrilo Princip is the reason WW2 happened.

I learned the first one in history class. It happened in 28th june(correct me if im wrong), 1912 when a bosnian-serbian group killed the prince and ww1 started.
