Whenever someone "calls out" Game Freak for "stealing their concept" GF should respond with "No we never saw your design, you're just psychic. Congratulations on predicting a future Pokémon random online artist."
Although I'm sure most people would love to see their ideas become real Pokémon, coincidence or not. Although if they started taking fan suggestions it might become overwhelming with all the submissions.
Maybe they should host a Pokémon design contest? They've done it before, although the design never actually made it into the games. It might turn into a "Minecraft mob vote" situation though which could be bad.

I personally can't decide if this leaked information about the Flying-type eeveelution was a good or bad thing, because the community has already divided into those who want to continue as if nothing had happened and those who now want to call out and ban fanart and fakemons so that nothing similar would happen in the future. However, I don't think there's any reason to ban fanart and fakemons, especially since TPC and GF have that clause.

It's honestly really cool that Gamefreak respects fan designs enough that they just don't want to step on fan designs if they don't have to. Shows there is always some level of artistic integrity still going on, no matter how good or bad the designs of a generation are.

There was a fan art of a bug type eeveelution I thought gamefreak should buy from the fan that made it, especially because I can't see any other bug evolution for eevee other than the one the fan made

Damn I've always wanted gyms and league to be flat levels. I think it would make it feel more natural for players to transition into competitive, teaching them team building instead of " just get overleved and steamroll". But again, competitive Pokemon is so dead I don't think that would save it tbh

Lot of stuff to breakdown in the Pokémon Sun and Moon leaks: Pokémon Gyms would definitely overshadow the Battle Tree with how it’s supposed to play out so having Pokémon Gyms would, in a way, feel like too much.
Also regarding fan art overlapping, they probably wanted to play it safe and avoid all forms of plagiarism. Also the closest thing that we got to a Flying-type Eeveelution would be Sky Forme Shaymin so to speak.
One other thing not present in the Teraleak is that there were plans to dress up your Pokémon although this was scrapped. Not to mention that you gotta take into form changes into consideration for Pokémon like Ditto or Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, and such which wouldn’t translate all that well when you break it down.

I could imagine the other 2 Mimikyu forms could of been of Eevee (Because of its popularity, like Pikachu) and Clefairy (To reference the adventures manga).

Eevee being pretty obvious choice just cause of Mimikyu's lore in general.
Clefairy, could be subbed for a different mon.

(edit): Clefairy could be subbed for a substitute doll. Which would be a perfect fit.
