I don't happen to use the onboard EQs and stuff much but man it is nice to see the built-in FX of a DAW really shine and be not just an afterthought. A lot of us (myself included) pay for expensive EQs and nice plugs, but it's great to know that I can just throw something like this on quickly if need be and it's still going to sound great. I've been at this a while and there definitely has never been a DAW so powerful and customizable as Reaper. Honestly my only regret is not getting into it sooner and wasting 4 years paying exorbitantly for Pro Tools. Nothing wrong with PT and I didn't hate using it, but for the ease of use and of course the MUCH more affordable cost, it's not even close. Hell you can even get PT-looking skins for Reaper and keep the look but for a fraction of the price. Gold

I've had better results doing this on a couple of occasions than with dedicated purpose commercial de-essers. Well worth the setup.

What a great trick. I love it, and the FX Chain is permanently stashed in my Reaper armoury as you suggest. Fantastic. Thanks so much for all the great Reaper videos -- I'm three years in now and have got some great results, tracks on Spotify and so on -- and you've played your part in that, I assure you.
