Man tells cops to leave his private property and they comply

I worked in the fire and EMS services for many years, and occasionally, a resident that we responded to, would order police to leave their property while asking us to stay. The only way the police could stay against the residents wishes was if we asked them to stay, for our safety. We never asked the police to stay, we wanted the public to see us as the good guys, and not be afraid to call us fearing the police would violate their rights.

A lot of these mistakes could be avoided if cops had a proper education.

seeing so many of these "noise complaint calls" I have to wonder how many times a jerk neighbor is calling and using police to harass another neighbor. start ticketing false 911 calls.

A call is not permission to trespass or demand anything. Its a request to investigate.

The problem with law enforcement didn't start on the street it started at the academy. There must be a preacadamy class/training, it's called 2 years in constitutional law school with a 3.5 or higher grade average. Then and only then can you inter the academy. Once you're in it's for 24 months with refresher classes on constitutional law, mental health training, communication skills with the public and medical training.
Training must continue throughout your career. No more qualified immunity, pay your own insurance protection. Depending on the violation 3 strike rule and your out forever

911 needs to start getting the name of the person that calls in. The law says we have the right to confront the accuser

Its training and consequences. My brother is cop in Colorado springs and got suspended for "twirling" his gun on finger in Taco Bell parking lot. Consequence was, STAY AT HOME FOR A MONTH WITH PAY!!! I took of work to attend Packers MNF game, and got suspended for 3 day WITHOUT pay

I have no problem with armed men. Everybody should be armed

You don’t see fire departments driving around looking for fires. Police should do the same, stay in their station waiting for a call.

They never did give the property owner the 'Call' (Incident) number, as far as I could see. They still attempted to prevent his filming with their flashlights.

The sergeant didn’t agree with him because he believed the guy. He said it because he wanted the man to shut up

Yeah, this looks absolutely ridiculous on the cops. Just milling around on this guy's yard, creeping around the neighbourhood with lights off....that IS sketchy behaviour on their own part. Good for the guy who recorded it.

Although unfortunate, I have never trusted or respected police in almost 60 years due to their obvious lack of intelligence and revenue generating techniques. ⚡👁️
