Tags and file organizing functions of mendeley destkop should be a must for a globally embraced NEW mendeley version otherwise it will never be a replacement... imho, as a researcher who uses mendeley from the very beginning; these are the most important missing parts.

Lost a lot of critical tools. Duplicate search? Filter function? Still mishandles dissertations. At least it scales the font now. End Note is worse, their customer service is a joke and it costs a damn fortune. So bang on Mendeley. Hope it gets better

The new version is very frustrating. It cannot reference by 'footnote style', it cannot recognize; after referencing I cannot continue to type, otherwise I type within the reference...., the shortcuts I used before do not work; I'm not able to search and navigate to a specific page number; there is just so much...some of my old documents have errors on the references.... Man, I wish I knew about the highlight extraction. I had to type an annotated bib because it was a mess to keep track. The word plug in hasn’t ever worked for me, I like the notebook idea. Probably would’ve been helpful if I knew how to use it first (link to reference). As many others have said, it feels like a significant downgrade from the desktop. I also don’t have the left sidebar anchored, or what’s been categorized, to where, and ones that aren’t. Is there a color coding system that would work instead of the folders? Man I wish I knew about the extra chick for highlighting… Would’ve saved me so much time

so, am a newbie and all the help and support seems to refer to some older version where there are folders etc .... Do I understand it correctly, this is the new version (which I have downloaded) but there are no folders anymore, just collections (since I cannot find any ‘new folder’ button) and where are those handy little icons showing whether it’s a book, a chapter or an article. So no folders but there are tags and collections. So how can I filter by tag? Can I create a collection by tags? How can I quickly add a reference to a collection, since there is no way to do this in the reference info pane? Just been watching lots of Youtube about Mendeley but now I’ve downloaded it, it looks nothing like what I saw in the videos... had high hopes but not so sure now?

I can see that the Tag option has been added, but it is missing from the Filter By found in the top right-hand corner. Will sort by tag be added?
