My mind is constantly filled with an uncontrollable whirlwind of my thoughts debating each other. I will randomly think of any topic and i will debate myself from every possible perspective and stance. I constantly change my own mind about things because one of my subconscious voices will give me a certain perspective or deduction or idea that my conscious self never thought about. My subconscious thoughts break every last one of my conscious thoughts down to its core, “why do i believe that”, “how do i know thats true”, “its subjective there is no right answer”. My brain does all of this and abunch of other similarly weird things all at the same time at all times. It feels like i cant control my own thoughts sometimes. Is this normal? Is this ADHD? Is this schizophrenia?

The problem in most universities today is that they've convinced themselves that anyone who disagrees with the current opinion is the antithesis of a critical thinker, so they don't listen anyway. In my opinion, a better way to phrase it is "to subject your thought to all perspectives. Smart or dumb, motivated or apathetic, modern or classic, all perspectives offer a potential paradigm shift.

The problem is that the vast majority of society simply isn't intelligent enough to understand fundamental truths, let alone competent enough to subject themselves to ridicule and judgment by allowing their appalingly inaccurate conceptualizations to be scrutinized.

My experience with undergrad in the 90s was that it was an extension of high school except that professors could care less if you passed or failed. The whole "college teaches you HOW to think" always seemed to me to be trite self agrandizement by college grads.
