Robert H Springer was a television pioneer who worked for ABC as the head of the Videotape Department. He hosts this film that was shot in the late 1950s as a demonstration/tour for students at UCLA. It is a great piece of television history and shows the origins of the use of video tape in broadcasting.

I can still remember doing this back in the way 60s. That sicing tape was extremely thin as to not cause the thickness of the tape to cause much of an error in tip projection from the video head as the splice passed the female vacuum guide The splice was made on the backside of the tape.

Wow! In USA they still use so primitive device??!! In North Kore we use much better device for editing.
