It's only fitting that the XC90 catapulted Volvo back into relevance in 2015. After all, the first generation of the three-row crossover SUV sustained the brand through some very sparse years, back when it looked like the Swedish automaker might pack up its smörgåsbord for good.

The second-gen XC90 was that rarest of unicorns in the automotive business: an absolute clean-sheet design. It featured a new platform, all-new powertrains, styling language, infotainment and electrical architecture. Heck, when it was introduced, lurking just offstage clutching a freshly redesigned key fob was Geely, Volvo's new corporate owners. The 2015 XC90 was as close as Sweden's automotive industry has ever come to a moonshot, and not only did it work, it did so beautifully.

So much hate for such an awesome vehicle. Love our T6 inscription! The most comfortable beautifully appointed vehicle I’ve ever owned! Beat out the Q7 hands down and comparably equipped it was thousands less.

It seems as though non-Volvo XC90 owners complain incessantly about this vehicle (bad reliability, underpowered motor, too expensive to maintain, blah-blah), whereas actual owners like myself who've driven it for 2+ problem free years, absolutely love it. Maintenance costs are minimal thanks to Volvo's 4yr/50, 000 mile initial warranty and 3yr/30, 000 complimentary vehicle servicing. An extended 100, 000 mile warranty (0$-100$ deductible) will cover any issues after 50K miles. Volvo offers far more standard drivers safety features on all trim levels than all the other European luxury carmakers, who will financially sodomize buyers by bundling overpriced option packages just to get safety tech available on a Honda Civic or Toyota Camry.

I am a non Volvo owners but love this vehicle and it’s warranties are excellent as well maintenance plans . I definitely want to test drive this XC90 model it looks gorgeous and spacious but not monstrous like navigator and Escalade . Thanks for review

Pleanty of power! Overall good vehicle.. my only complaint is slow to load infotainment/air conditioning controls. Also wish On call would keep the a/c on while you enter the vehicle ready to drive away. You have to switch to run and restart everything!!

it is a mid cycle now. Volvo failed to change XC90.

Sadly Volvo has priced the very same loyal buyers who kept them afloat entirely out of the market. The days of great value and tremendous safety for money are sadly gone. The Chinese owners want their money back with interest. Sorry Volvo I will go elsewhere!
