Hey John I know its highly unlikely that you'll even see this comment but I just want to thank you for being such a big inspiration to me in my journey. At my heaviest I weighed 547lbs and as of this morning I'm down to 297lbs. I feel great, I'm actually happy and I feel like I have my life back and I want to let you know you're a small part of that.

Food is fuel. You don't earn your food at the gym, you are not a dog dancing for treats. You earn fitness at the gym. Food fuels training and enjoying life.

Yes, maintaining is harder than losing. There’s no motivation of seeing the scale drop.

Great perspective and advice as usual. You were one of many inspirations for me to lose 150 lbs. I've gained most of it back, but am not giving up and on the road to good health again. And I had NO Halloween candy this year :) Stay strong. Keep inspiring.

John just want to share my story about weight loss. A year ago i discovered your channel and it inspired me and motivated me to lose weight from 250 lbs and after 6 months I'm down to 150 lbs. And last 4 months ago I started my first bulk and learn many advise from you on how to stop binge eating. And it feel great. I'm very happy that i lose weight because it makes me feel that I have a life and my life is fitness. Just want to let you know man that you are really the reason why i transformed by body. Thank you man and i love you. And starting last month i created my channel to share my knowledge about fitness too, but there is no need for you to visit it, just want to share my story. <3

Not sure if you have watched this or not. But on Netflix, a show call explained did an episode, "why diets don't work" sounds so like it's becoming a general consensus on sustainability.

I'm so glad you mention walking. So many people think you have to run/bike/what ever. I lost 60lbs this year and my primary exercise was walking. Thanks for the video

I've just started changing my life. I weigh 400 pounds. been eating clean, walking at least a mile per day, and trying intermittent fasting for a week now. I'm down 6 pounds as of today. This is it. There is no turning back. never been more obsessed about changing my life more than this moment. Let's do this.

Thanks for explaining the loose skin and fluctuating. I notice too some crazy fluctuation as much a 8lbs a day sometimes. It use to drive me crazy but I find it most constant to just weigh myself first thing in the morning, seems to be most accurate. Maintaining is way harder than losing. Something in you once you reach your goal weight wants to tell you the battle is over but it has only just begun.

I couldn’t agree more. I recently moved to maintenance/muscle gain and it has been trial and error with a fight against bingeing. But like you I am carrying over the habits from losing and adjusting thinking.
