Ozai was stated to literally be the most powerful firebender in the show, idk why ppl argue that. Zaheer was a good af but his advantage was that nobody knew how to fight an air bender so he had a huge advantage with that making him seem good until tenzin showed up

Zaheer would get his ass kicked by Ozai the same way he got his ass kicked by Tenzin(flight isn't going to save him considering Ozai has his fire jets). Ozai is a boring villain, but the most underrated one combatively. Zaheer is a great villain, but the most overrated one combatively. Zaheer only beat fodder, unnotable fighters and a poisoned Korra(who still kept him on the defensive, got the upper hand and was about to finish him off prior to the poison messing her up to the point she couldn't fight no more), the moment he went up someone of actual significance, he got destroyed so badly he had to be bailed out by his teammates. If he wasn't, he would've been fucked. And here, nobody is going to save Zaheer from the man who was confirmed to be the most powerful firebender of the OG show, had Iroh doubting his chance of victory and Azula straight-up saying she stood no chance against her father. The man who almost killed the Avatar prior to the AS kicking in, and yet still was able to hold his own against an Avatar in AS and not poisoned.

Zaheer is only surviving if he runs away from Ozai, the moment he tries to engage in direct combat, he is as good as dead.

Zaheer is a prodigy like Azula. And if he had a decade outside of prison to truly master airbending and unlearn some bad habits from when he learned to fight as a person without bending, I have no doubt he would become an airbending master. But as he is in the show any true master of any of the four elements would 100% crush him, maybe not easily but they would. Iroh, Tenzin, Bumi, Pakku(that’s just the classic masters from Atla, Ozai, Toph, Aang before he learned the other three elements, and Katara would also beat him) it’s the truth

Ozai would win or it’s tie it’s really easy to see why they would tie ozai strikes blue lightning zaheer could fly away or get hit mid air and fall getting up struggling and blast ozai with a large amount of air ozai could
Also get hurt I. This situation it depends if ozai could lava Bend and if zaheer would somehow fight through the pain of lightning then die ozai is strong so zaheer is ozai would have won if aang didn’t go avatar mode zaheer knows some air bending that hasn’t been used for more than a century long so it’s a TIE

Ozai (even without the comet) might just be the most powerful bender we've seen in terms of raw bending strength (other than a fully realized Avatar) and he has the skills to use that power.

Zaheer can't really compete with that imo, hell, he got schooled by Tenzin. Zaheer is pretty overrated while Ozai is usually underrated by most.
