The vast majority of MMOs don't post their active player numbers, so where are these coming from? In some games you can check the achievements/collectibles tied to the latest content and use them as a somewhat accurate guide, but what about the other games? Is this using Reddit follower counts like that other fake "analytics" website?

GW2 gang here, altho i could also play BDO or FFXIV. I'm glad GW2 still holds up, it's really a great, complete and rewarding game overall. I've been curious about Warframe tho, definitely a big title, is it worth playing in current year ?

I think this shows a few things. One MMO eat each other playerbase most of the time. Two GW2 is better than alot of people thought. Three WoW and FF have there swing during content so large it keep up with non-mmo games titles some times

Most of these arent or should not be considered MMOS at all. Just because they are multiplayer doesnt make them MMOs (because MMO usually has RPG attached to it) in the traditional genre sense of the word, like WoW, or EQ, FF14 or GW2 are MMO-RPGs and Roblox is not and imo neither is Destiny 2 nor is Path of Exile. They are online multiplayer games but not MASSIVE RPGs

problem with games like BDO is that it dont run well and it require super computers, if it was coded well it would have been a lot better, same goes for many games. for example i used to be a godlike player in bdo back in the day, but i got 144hz screen, my 6700xt and my good pc cannot keep my fps above 144hz at all time, which make my game stutter a bit which i dont like at all. makes me want to quit.
