I’ve been approached 4 times by lost children over the years. They were frightened and needed protection so they didn’t end up in the wrong hands. All 4 times I was able to reconnect them with their parents, twice through the police and the last one was just a month ago.
EDIT: make that 5 children, all under the age of 4.

Even talking to a little girl can get you in trouble. Even if you do want to help them. This same thing happened to me. But a Police Officer came not even 5 mins while I was trying to call her parents. She was so close on the phone number but didn’t know the last 2 numbers. I tried to tell the Officer I was trying to call her Parents. But instead they put me in handcuffs. After staying in the squad car for a few mins while the little girl was trying to explain. It took the Officer a long time to realize I was only trying to help. The only proof I had was my phone still had her Mom phone number with only 2 numbers missing. So because of that I told the officer my side of what happened and he let me free. Probably 20mins in the squad car. Finally her Mom came and I told her I literally was in the back of a squad car trying to help your daughter out. Please pay more attention to your kid. She had lost her mom in the crowd of people. I nearly got in Trouble for it. Just trying to help someone. 😔
