So fond of the box-joint. Easy and fun to make with tons of gluing surface. Nice, simple jig that produces near flawless results every time.

I've seen similar using a dado blade, but this would work well for someone who doesn't have a dado blade set.

The space between the guide and the saw blade is SUPER critical. If it is off by even a tiny amount, your joint will not go together.

i do that in a porter cable dovetail jig - a lot quicker ~

This is a finger/box joint, not a dovetail? Lots of glue surface.
