Hi. I've been taking HSC for 9 months now and only 3 weeks of classes are left. Chemistry Exam is on the 9th of November. So far, i have been revising a lot for Chemistry and was feeling confident before every exam only to turn out that I encounter some questions which I didn't know how to answer/answer incorrectly or I just do not get the full marks for the question. I'm sitting on a 80% Band 5.

My study plan included remodifying my notes 3 times now, because when i write, i remember but seems like I'm not covering the whole syllabus yet, with some holes in my checklist. Do you have any tips how i can make sure I'm covering everything that is in the syllabus?

Thank you!!!

Just did the HSC paper for new chem syllabus. Was so bloody hard I thought, much tougher than the sample paper. They asked about entropy and enthalpy and how it affects solubility which isn't even in the year 12 syllabus afaik. I thought it was by far the worst exam I had to do for HSC. The problem with chem is there is so much to know and such little things they can ask. Like the second question was "Outline a chemical test that could be used to differentiate between 1-pentane and 2-pentane" and like many of the questions I had no idea cause I could not remember the million different reactions.

Hello! I had a question about this whole HSC Chemistry extravaganza. I'm currently in year 10 and I've chosen chemistry, however I'm a very big 'theory' and less 'practical' person and was wondering how the prac part of chemistry would be marked, like how much lab lessons are you going to have to do for the new syllabus or is it just theory? and is prac optional? like is there a way to avoid doing practicals?

Is this syllabus in western australia? Ive seen that there was a new english syllabus recently with something to do with des writing or something. However i havent heard people complaining about it here.
