Subsidy rationalisation is so far for diesel in the peninsula. Not whole country. Also ron95 still on subsidy so far. Why? Coz singapore and thailand "stole" subsidised fuel from us. Eg 4x4 cars, trucks, buses.

If Switzerland can be a neutral country, why can’t Malaysia?

"To be an enemy of the US is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal" - Henry Kissinger. We want as little to do with the US as possible.

ASEAN countries as a whole want to be neutral. The problem is both US and China want to make it a dilemma when it shouldn't be in the first place.

Better Neutral than choosing sides, asking Malaysia to choose sides is against our policy since Independence and we know this action will not benefit for the good of our nation.

But the growing numbers of US origin funds in private equity is overwhelming. Although it is good for economy it is also hard to juggle

Smart nations will ride 2 boats. Being on 1 side means you are limiting your options. The Anglos don’t want you to have options.

let me translate that for you - Malaysians no longer consider the US to be the only superpower, they want a multipolar world in which countries have options, options that are not just "US" or "the west".

It's all very well wanting to maintain a neutral stance, but will USA tolerate that? China, unlike USA, doesn't butt into other countries' affairs so I think they wouldn't mind a neutral stance. I can't say the same about USA.

The US is the biggest investor in Malaysia while China is the largest trading partner. If China slows down or if the Yuan weakens then it should impact Malaysian exports to China and the Ringgit which has already lost a lot of value. The US repatriated the 1MDB monies which is from the largest seizure in US history of financial kleptocracy. They repatriated the monies back to the people of Malaysia by the DOJ of both Obama and Trump. Is there still more loot unaccounted for involving East Malaysian energy and China?
