Any other YouTuber would’ve taken 10 mins and 4 commercials to explain this !! 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

I always enjoy your "common sense" take on automotive topics. I also appreciate that I never feel you are sponsored by anyone and just give your honest opinion on topics. Thanks Scotty.

I use a fuel additive called arch oil in my 6.0 powerstroke diesel. It’s helped it considerably. Helps breaking down the water and whatnot

I've been an auto technician for 20 years and I personally recommend BG products engine oil flush, transmission flush, top engine clean and fuel additives are the only products I've ever seen make a difference for real!!!!

Biocides are pretty much a necessity for Diesel engines. My great-grandad had this small Jacobsen field tractor that’d sat for two decades unmoved. There was so much algae in the fuel tank the tractor was utterly useless without a complete disassembly. It was freaky to see, had no idea at the time that was possible!

Started using diesel kleen in '06 in my 7.3. Turned out to be cam sensor(factory).Still use after 18 years in my '00 with 348k miles.

Also...many diesel injectors and injection pumps are very sensitive and require very clean diesel fuel, and rely a lot more on the fuel itself for lubrication. And modern diesel fuels don't have quite as good lubricity as they used to, so many fuel additives also help make up for that. And diesel fuel in very cold temperatures can turn to gel, so there are a lot of good winter additives for that reason as well

I wish I knew when I had a diesel powered Jaguar. The DPF filter needed to be replaced, would have cost a lot of money to replace. Should have used an additive! You are a very knowledgeable man.

I swear by seafoam.
Especially in my small engines. Keeps my 2 strokes...stroking.
Lawnmower...too.
Love this channel!

I use STP Fuel Injector cleaner, from what I can tell it had helped throttle response significantly

I go the opposite way, but I have my reasons. I drive 2 cars: a 1997 Toyota Rav 4 with 240, 000 miles on it and a 2010 Toyota Corolla with 112, 000 Rav 4 is on a rebuild with 60, 000 and other then the rebuild is one of the strongest cars I've ever owned. Grerat Pickup, fun to drive, and I use Marvel Mystery oil regularly.

I live in Western Norway, where it snows and rains a lot, so there's a lot of humidity in the air all the time, and some of it is bound to find it's way into the tank or fuel system. Diesel cars are popular, especially the slightly older ones, so they have DPF, EGR, SCR and stuff that can get clogged with sot if the diesel isn't clean. Fuel additives can help with that. BTW, a clogged DPF that can't be cleaned but has to be replaced can cost over $3000 depending on car model. 7% of our diesel fuel is also biofuels.

I always use liqui moly engine oile additive and engine oile flush because the previous owner didn't change the oile frequently, and those German products are really good .

Optilube XL for summer, Optilube Winter for.. winter.
A lubricity additive and anti-gel is crucial for older diesel engines like my 6.2 with modern low sulphur diesel.

Interesting... my wife’s 2015 Kia Sportage actually “calls for” adding a fuel additive (Kia brand, of course) as part of its normal maintenance schedule! Yeah, I don’t stock “Kia” fuel additive, but about every 10, 000 miles I’ll put a good product in there.
