How to Enable GSYNC On A Freesync Monitor Or Display

You will need:
A DP or Display Port cable (others not supported at this time)
A 10 or 20 series Nvidia GPU (others not supported at this time)
The latest Windows updates installed and the computer rebooted.

Right click on the Nvidia icon in the notification area, and choose the Nvidia control panel. Look for the monitor to have the nvidia shield logo on it. If you don't see this your device or devices are not compatible at this time.

If you have the shield look over on the left panel for the
set up G-sync section and click the check box and click apply.

It might be worth doing another reboot to allow the settings to take.

Now try playing some games and see if your devices are compatible and if your display has less tearing or seems smoother.

Let me know how you get on!

After you click apply on the monitor the 'check' on 'enable settings for the selected display model' 3:40, your 'check' stays in the square after the apply, mine goes blank in the square. Does that mean that it didn't work on mine? Thanks - Just want to add, if it does work, it works quite a bit worse than my Gsync monitor. I have a 1070 with 1920 gsync and a 2560 freesync, although there are less frames with the 2560 it seems a bit worse in Witcher 3 at least. And the whole point of the sync is to not feel the difference in fps so bit bummed by that. I did see a review which shows absolutely no difference between the two so I'm not sure.

Ive had a problem too: gsync wasnt showing up in the Nvidia control panel. I downloaded DDU (display driver uninstaller) and ran that into windows safemode. When that was done i reinstalled Nvidia experience and reinstalled the driver. Afther that the gsync option showed :D I hope this will help other people. EDIT: I also had to unplug my second monitor (maybe that one doesnt support gsync idk)

I have the same monitor where my gsync detects the freesync monitor when I turn on, but the tearing has persisted. Does this still have to be vertically synchronized?

Yes, Mike my AOC G2460VQ6 although not officially supported does seem to work with adaptive sync with the GTX 1050ti. I have only had a quick test (Just Cause 3) but initially very impressed! Getting the Freesync feature working yesterday stopped me from pulling the trigger on a 2060 upgrade (now waiting for Navi).

It's connected to my Titan X with a DisplayPort cable. Everything is updated and still no G-sync option. Can someone help me?

I have no option for set up gsync? I’m using a display port cable, a gsync monitor, and nvidia 980ti, is it because my montor is a omen27I that I can only use adaptive sync with a 10 series card or higher?
