As a native Augustan too, this video is a truthful account of Augusta, GA. It's a friendly city, that has a small town feel. People are kinder in general. The life here is quieter and polite. It's very family and elder friendly, too (I'm a wheelchair user. No problems asking for help when shopping, for example). The HUGE medical district (medical hub for 60 miles between Atlanta, Columbia, SC, and Savannah -- about 20% of the employment is there). It helps with the friendly/helping "tone" here. It's NOTHING like Atlanta that's more fast paced. The location is ideal for people that want a taste of everything -- big city life in Atlanta; riverways and greenery in Augusta; beaches and salt water fishing in Savannah; and mountains in North GA, and all are but 2 to 4 hrs away. It's a hidden gem for people who like a small town feel in a larger metro area that can support city amenities. It is also a very diverse city. Many cultures are here due to Fort Gordon (I'm Japanese-Swedish ancestry, for example). I don't ever want to leave here, it's HOME, and feels like one, too.

I live in Rhode Island and I’m thinking about relocating. I visited Augusta last summer with my family. I was kinda disappointed in the downtown area. A lot of businesses had left. Also, it’s hard to get a feel for a area just visiting. No realtor will tell me if a area is decent to move to.

It's called Disgusta for a reason. On a positive note, it is better than Columbus.

but the thing is Augusta has that big city feel too it’s kinda a mixture but that’s same for atlanta because there’s a bunch of land in both city’s but augusta traffic with all the population and development growth it’s definitely getting worst traffic here in the area it starting to become a big problem and we’re starting to get as crowded as atlanta we also have that huge suburbs feel to

A little History many may not know is Augusta was the Capital of Georgia from 1785 till 1795, not Atlanta. Our 28th President Woodrow Wilson's childhood home is there.
