It’s like they’ve designed a house that would be perfect for somewhere like California/Florida ect, but put it in the UK, where it’s freezing cold 90% of the time.

It’s amazing to look at from the outside and has stunning views, but it doesn’t seem like a very practical place to live with the lack of privacy, no garden, threat of erosion and the need for having blinds everywhere, so you can sleep in past 7am in the summer.

I'm so glad that they have managed to finish it. Saw it first on grand design and this build really pushed this family to breaking point. I pray it sells for the most that they can get out of it. They all deserve a fresh start. Preferably away from the ocean 🌊

It's been on the market for over 2 years!
Started off at £10 million has since been reduced several times. It's under £5 million now ..still no takers
The term 'White Elephant' comes to mind!

I remember seeing it on grand designs at the time it started. It pushed the family to the limits and the guy was on his own towards the end of the show. Hope it was worth all of the Argo, 8 years is a long time.

This was the second saddest of all the Grand Design episodes for us. We were used to the formula of the show where the owners of the featured property go through all manner of travails and then in the reveal at the end all is great. And we expected the same for the reveal of the revisit but the reveal was like a kick in the gut. The building wasn't finished, and looked like it might never be, he was on his way to a divorce, he was financially devastated and he couldn't do anything with the smaller house he had build next to this property until he completed the main property and that looked like it probably wasn't going to happen.

Very happy for him that he has managed to complete it. I hope it will go well for him.

Great views of the seascape. The property could perfectly be described as minimalist and a little cold and bleak, particularly so I would imagine during those cold and dark Winter evenings with the wind battering the property in its exposed location. Weigh this property up against what £10m will buy you elsewhere and I'm afraid my money would go elsewhere.

can't believe how much work been done on house since June, when I stood at top of drive looking at a shell of a house

Lovely house however for £10 million I’d be wanting the place fully finished

How long can you swim when it is warm enough, three or four weeks?

I wish the camera man in the video would just let the woman talk. So annoying that he’s constantly interrupting her and correcting what she’s saying.

What a monstrosity! Ugly and soulless. After 10 years still not finished. It's been derelict for years, must be riddled with issues. It probably needs millions more, to make it safer, prettier and more liveable. The tonnes of work needed inside and outside got recently covered up temporarily mostly, to hide it from the cameras. A few pieces of furniture we see in the video must be probably rented by the agent. I remember watching the episode on GD. Quite shocking really. The owner was very stubborn, wouldn't listen to anybody and to his family and he got devastated in the end. Very sad.

Very worrying at how close that property is to the cliff, so abnormal weather and they cliff face could easily fall into the sea making the building unsafe. I also fear more coastal erosion over the years so not sure if it's worth the £10m price tag not to mention insurance required!

Coastal erosion is a real thing and drilling so many holes in what will be an already precarious situation will just add to the problem, it also won't help the surrounding area as Coastal erosion can still happen 20meters from the coast, this is a loverly house but I bet the insurance is a joke

I’m glad that the guy was able to get the property to a sales able condition. I saw the programme of all of the trials of the development.

It looks a bit cold to me unfortunately, and the building is north facing. That won’t ever change.

Sorry, having an outdoor pool in England is one of the most useless things ever

Did she say “lift access, yet to be fitted”?
12 years and “yet to be fitted”.

Spectacular architecture. The original owner has the heart of a Viking King.💪💪🥇🥇

It’s only done to first fix! Temp flooring and pvc skirting is only for dressing. With no heating I doubt if it can stand many winters.

Great property guys! I thiink that the peeps who buy this should consider having the eroding cliff-face chemically sealed with an epoxy-type chemical, steel netted and then faced with a durable, rebarred conrete face (sprayed-on or wooden-formed) that's pinned-in with 6 metre metal rods. Will add years to the structural face and probably reduce insurance. That's what i'd do anyways. Both of you are doing great work on this channnel and very natural and welcoming! You are consumate professionals who'll go a very long (and most deserved) way with a bright furure ahead of you! Well done!!
