In this short I take the Dewalt DCD-850 and see if it can beat the Ridged 3 mode brushless impact driver.

Just bought the new brushless set and batteries 2.5 MAH and 4.0MAH and was skeptical at first but been running them for 2 days straight on aluminum and so far the performance has been great! Time will tell

Woods have softer areas and harder ones, you need to pilot both holes for more accuracy

That Ridgid had a head start by about 4 threads. But, both are great tools however I think Dewalt will last longer.

Not only does the rigid have a pre drilled hole but the Dewalt has a power stack on it and not a big battery

In the end it really doesn't matter. If you're like me, invested heavily in dewalt then you probably aren't gonna go buy the ridgid or anything else because is 1.5 seconds faster.

Rigid auto wins due to that lifetime warranty and if its not better its usually just as good

Looks pretty comparable but what doesn't is that lifetime warranty that rigid has... that will save you more than the .4 secs you beat the dewalt by.

Two things, the Ridgid started with a clear advantage and also was driven in a bit before even starting.

Use the dewalt XR model not the atomic lol

The real test is how far you can drive the head below the surface. This isn't a demonstration of torque, only speed.
