Hades wasn't there for Mal when she was growing up, but you best believe he's going to be there for her adult life. After all, Hades' daughter is set to become the Queen of Auradon, and that's nothing short of miraculous. Hades has a lot of lost time to make up for, and he's already begun paying his debts. He trusted Mal with his Ember and healed Audrey despite everyone thinking he was a no-good villain. Hades has proven that he has his daughter's best interests at heart. But he still has a long road ahead of him.

Mal and Hades seemed to be closer than ever by the end of "Descendants 3." But there's still so much about their relationship that we don't know. Mal now has two of the most powerful parents in all of Auradon. It's too bad that Maleficent couldn't make amends like Hades did. Hades is 100% the better parent. He knew growing up with parents who fought would only make her more miserable and when Mal asked him to use the ember to save Audrey he could’ve caused more chaos for everyone but instead he cared more about what was important to Mal. Maleficent on the other hand only used Mal as one of her minions. Even the look Hades gave Ben at the end of the movie was a thing a caring parent would do :)

Hades was more like his original mythological counterpart than he was his Disney counterpart. He was more neutral than evil.

I realized of everything you said 😂 About when he attacked her, I don't think he was actually taking her power away, I think he was only pushing her away without hurting her, but when Mal go back to her human form she knew she needed to say something so no one will suspect that Hades is her dad so she lied about what Hades was actually doing with the ember, and I think that is why Hades said to her "quite a show you pulled off the other day"

When Hades says "let's dance" I love the look Mal gives like"yeah I came here for the Ember no nah but I'll watch while you have your fun. Then it's back to business dad"

Hades is literally one of the best parents that we know of in descendants.
I loved the part when Hades told Ben he was watching him through sign language when Mal's back is turned because that shows he loves her and does not want her to be hurt.

In all honesty, I don't really see Hades as a quote unquote villain. He may be the god of the underworld but he was put into that position by Zeus which caused people to fear Hades. Sometimes the most feared "villain" has the softest heart
