In this series, Craig Hume MD of Utopia Computers sits down and explains the hardware requirements needed to get the very best out of particular industry-leading applications. In this episode, we are looking at Autodesk AutoCAD and the workstation specifications that get the best performance out of this application. Note, that these are not the minimum requirements for Autodesk AutoCAD, you can grab them from the AutoCAD website.

So how do we go about finding the best components for your next AutoCAD workstation? We spend time benchmarking and testing each component to find the sweet spot, as well as talking to clients who daily drive these workstations each day, we then pull all that together and put it in this video for you to enjoy!

You can easily install Autocad LT 2024 & Revit LT 2024 and work smoothly on intel i3 3rd generation processor. I have tested it on my Dell Laptop and 100% working. My Laptop specification is given below:-

Processor - i3 3227U @ 1.90 GHz.
RAM - 8 gb DDR3 @ 1600 MHz.
SSD - 500gb SATA, speed of 540 MB/s Read and 500 MB/s Write.
Integrated Graphics Card - Intel (R) HD Graphics 4000, 1792 MB VRAM.

When I worked on Revit LT 2024, The CPU was working it's maximum base clock speed of 1.89 GHz and usage was around 26% only.

I'm torn between Intel 12650H and AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS both running on RTX 4060. Which would you recommend for smooth Autodesk applications experience?

Thank you for the informative video! I have an A4000 and need to pick a CPU. I work with AutoCAD & Solidworks as well as Adobe. I want to get a CPU that is slightly more powerful than the GPU. I have been looking at the 13900F vs the 7900. Is one a clear winner? Is there a better option still? Thanks,

My experience with 2d drawings so far says: Min 16GB fastest ram but 32G is better. Min 4 cores over 4 Ghz but near 5 Ghz is better. Min SSD SATA2 but Nvme better. GPU doesn't matter for 2D but I guess Quadro better. So that means as the dude said 12th Gen i3 with nice 32G ram and very nice NVME with some second hand Quadro with 4GB will be the minimum for nice work.

No benchmark, only give hint to stereo type Intel better, Nvidia better.
Source trust me bro. There are benchmark out there show us clearly Rx6000 GPU autoCAD 3D far better performance than RTX3000 and RTX4000.
