You needed to mention the numbers should be organized from smallest to largest. It just so happened you did that, but if I was doing this (amazingly simple) method on a set of numbers I have been collecting over a period of time, I would need to apply a data filter to sort them from smallest to largest first.

why do some websites suggest that you should a n+1 to the formula. This confusing because I don't know what I should use.

Not the same way in my class. Our book and teacher counts 13 as the 90th percentile.  This is just a different way. Be careful to do it the way your class teaches.

So the 68th percentile would be 10? I feel like this is a super broad way to figure out the percentile
