Thanks for an excellent guide but I'm still none the wiser as to what you get when you buy IEMs. Is it just the earpieces and a lead? What do you use to drive them? How do you get the mix you require into your particular IEMs? etc., etc.

I'm new to this whole IEM thing, I want to purchase a great pair of IEM's primarily for gaming audio but would also be a benefit if they sounded decent for music etc. do any of them come with a microphone? Can someone point me in the right direction on what is good in 2022? Also do I need to invest in additional equipment like a DAC or AMP ? Sorry complete newbie to this field here..
